No sound from Mac mini - Blu-ray Forum

Could someone please advise on how to get sound to my receiver from my Mac mini. No sound via hdmi or toslink. Hope it's something simple but this is getting frustrating as hell. Help!

Did you go into the audio section of your system preferences and make sure everything was ok? What OS are you running?

You may start by using a analog cable to your receiver. You know a 1/8 phono plug to two RCA type thing. If you are like me you either have 29 of those cables or you threw them all out and now you need one.

Everything looks good to me. I can get sound from the internal speaker but not through my receiver.

I'm going to try some headphones and see if that works. If it does I know there is something not setup right, I guess.

I got it! It was user error.

Setting in AVR. Had video to hdmi but audio to analog. Changed that to hdmi and

With your itunes rips, was it just through the DAC that you had the distortion problems? how does it sound played back on your PC?
