Default Peachtree Audio Nova 125

I am thinking about purchasing a Peachtree Decco 65 or a Peachtree Audio Nova 125 and was wondering if the decco 65 would be enough power for the speakers I am about to get after finishing the auditioning. I have already auditioned the PSB imagine B bookshelf and was thinking of getting them. I am now leaning to the Totem Rainmaker. The place where I get my gear doesn't let me take the demos all at once so it is difficult to A/B them. But it looks like I am liking the Totems.

If i could save some money with the Decco65 it would be great. I am a little skeptical because on other forums they say the older generation was lacking in the amp but have improved with this new line.

The other question is, I was wondering, if I should connect using USB or optical to my Mac Pro. I don't have any optical cables left.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Being a 4ohm speaker with a relatively low sensitivity at 87.5dB, I would buy the Nova 125 to match with the Rainmakers. The Decco 65 will drive them as well, but if you're going to pump it up with some juice you may find that amp struggling.

Attach via USB - you will take advantage of the asynchronous DAC in the Decco 65 - this will give you far less jitter than with an optical cable.

Thanks Johnny Vinyl and Prerich. I am not sure if I am correct but I think the Nova 124 can do 200 watts 4ohm?

Sorry not familiar with computer audio, another question is do you need a special USB cable or will a standard one work. Here is a link of the usb cable.

How about $30.00? My rep who I deal with there sold it to me for 30 bucks so I went through with it. I got a pretty good deal on the Nova 125 and the Totem Rainmakers in mahogany. They are still in the box but can't wait to set them up. Thanks prerich, maybe you can help me out when I save money to get a decent turntable.

Is there a break in time for the hybrid tube because I forgot to ask my rep and it is nowhere in the manual.

Love listening to music in 2 channel and can't wait till I set it up.
