Default James Bond Individual Films + Digital HD | 09/15/15

In addition to the recent announcement of a new complete box set including Digital HD copies, as well as the 9 SPECTRE related steelbooks, Fox/MGM is also re-releasing individual versions of the film now including Digital HD copies. The artwork has also been updated. These will be released September 15, 2015.

Thanks for the suggestion Chip75! Much cleaner.

Wow--and I thought the last run of blu-ray covers was terrible. These new ones somehow manage to be blander, flatter, and less appealing. Yikes.

mpa25, you say there isn't a link for Dr. No available, but you haven't provided any links. You could provide the BD numbers and members could go from there:

Yeah, no kidding. All that trouble just to sell Digital copies? Why not sidestep the physical discs and just sell UV codes? Anyone who's a fan of this series already has purchased multiple versions of them. Timothy Dalton looks like a mannequin

They look like something from the VHS days, especially with that massive white part below the picture

Has anyone picked up the newest release of Skyfall? I'm wondering what the disc label looks like? Whether it's the same white label with Craig on it like the original release or the all black 007 label that would match the Bond 50 set.

These new individual releases are good for those out there who don't already own the films or who absolutely need digital copies. I can't imagine there are too many people left that fit those categories though. I see they were going for a specific style with the new artwork, but it just doesn't quite work for most of them. I'm debating whether I should pick up the new steelbooks, but it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense they are only releasing 9 of them.

I love the artwork, it is very clean and modern. I am being sincere.

I don't doubt your sincerity! For what it's worth, I like the formatting--the title on the clean white background is indeed clean, modern, and visually distinct--but find the (retouched) stills for each film visually unappealing.

Yes, the choices of stills (and their obvious plastic retouching) is weak, but the template of the covers works fine.

I would suggest that the white background be replaced with a one inspired by each movie's main title sequence, to give it more of an identity.

Yeah, just something with a little more oomph. Because the stills are the most distinctive elements on each cover, the success of the designs hinges on them, which is unfortunate given how bland most of them are. It doesn't serve the aesthetic sensibilities of the series well.

Ah, well. Catalog release cover art often leaves a lot to be desired.
