Wow, though that particular model is slightly over the top input and output wise, but I would def prefer to add a quality Thunderbolt interface to my HTPC than use USB, unless it's USB 3. As for Firewire, right now nothing better for audio applications but it is an aging tech, I haven't looked into USB 3 solutions for audio yet, the bandwidth is there, but we both know that in audio bandwidth is only part of it, the majority of the real world problems rise from delay (lag), and even 0.1 ms is too much. ASIO has always been a good solution, but it's not a "great" solution. I firmly believe Thunderbolt to be the definitive answer to lag, with 100% real time, not 99.99%
