Hey Jim, sorry for the late reply I was without a PC for a bit. I do have pretty much all of Beethoven's Symphonies and I guess all the standards. I do enjoy the Russians a lot, love their passion.

Check this book out, it is a great reference to start you on classical music.

I should of been clearer as I do have a good basic collection and enjoy Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Wagner and Gregorian etc.

Was looking for something less known though

I don't remember the GB ... Maybe 140 or so.

It's just under 300 Cds in Apple Lossless. No hi rez stuff. (I have a SACD of DSotM and a Blu Ray copy of WYWH and that's all the hi rez stuff I have but niether is "ripped")

I don't like "all kinds" of music. I actually can't stand some entire genres.

I'm personally not sure I'd go so far as to say that since I think there is good music in every genre, but as a rule I'm not a fan of Rap and C&W. I think it's pretty normal for people to not care for certain genres though.

Some of the county pop or another example would be some female vocalists who seem to be trying to wail like Whitney with no real ability to do so,... that stuff can make me flee from stores I'm otherwise trying to shop at.

I can actually like some country music but there's plenty that sounds like a celebration of stupid.

And I've yet to hear something I can stand from Kanye West, Jay Z and stuff like that... there may be good stuff there but whatever I have heard didn't inspire me to go looking for it.

It's unfortunate because I'm sure I miss a lot. It's just I have a lot of stuff I like so I'm not looking for new stuff. If anything sometimes I discover more old stuff like Men at Work's Cargo as an example.

About 8.5 TB. I'm slowly copying all my photographic negatives and transparencies along with my vinyl and bootleg tapes.

Mine is only a terabyte but all my files are ALAC and FLAC so not a lot of music but if they were MP3 then it would be a big collection. I am old school and prefer tangible media that is why I joined Bluray forum.

Same here. About 1TB but all in FLAC format with a few 320MP3s. The MP3s are basically from Digital Codes that came with a vinyl purchase.

I won't say memory size, instead I will give actual song count:

11419 songs in mp3 + hundreds of CDs (not part of the mp3 count)

Music - Unclear, I am in the process of re-ripping everything to ALAC that I have physical versions of.
Movies - Really just my iTunes library, so around 100GB.
Games - I have tons of Steam games, so no clue here, really.

I have about 1000 songs loaded to my NAS server in either FLAC, WAV, or APE formats (the only ones I use). That's about 1/3 of my music collection. Gotta get the other 2/3's ripped to the NAS.

220gb of FLAC/MP3/M4A files. FLACS from my own cds, mp3 from amazon's store, m4a from the itunes store.

Most of my stuff is classical, film scores, new age, or jazz.
