I agree with you that the first half of the track is questionable, but when the second half kicks in around 1:55, I think it works perfectly! It's impossible for me to hear the later part of the track without recalling the whole rhythm of the scene in my mind ; it feels totally simpatico with what's on the screen! You can question his sensiblities, but Conti really knew what he was doing there.

Yeah, in isolation, it is ok ... however, speaking relatively by drawing on what works best for Bond films, it is probably not spot on ... FYEO, in a way, tries to be like OHMSS. Below are the two ski sequences with their respective scores:

My first Bond film - thanks to my cousin owning the VHS back in '97!

So having just seen the theatrical screening, I have two questions

1. Why is Max Kalba taking a personal call in a public phone booth?

2. When will the Vue chain stop showing that f*cking endless "Stories" thing before their movies. It's telling me off for watching a movie on my phone when I've come to the cinema!

Cinematic convenience with an assumption that since Max is outside his office, no one else can answer that phone, the best way to reach him is through such public phones at that place (# also presumably more easily available)

Also provides a segway to Bond chasing Jaws sequence.

Just got back from the SWLM in Warrington... fantastic screening in Dolby STEREO! No surrounds for this baby tonight...sounded sweet anyway.
From a great time when Bond was fun, colourful, beautiful girls, amazing (for real) stunts, massive sets and all the budget up on the screen...Rog definately hit his peak with this one!

Was the first 007 film I saw in the theater as a kid, and still my all time favorite.

Mind you, most of Bach's dialogue sounds rough, suggesting she wasn't avaliable for ADR, but they didn't, or wern't allowed, to replace (although "THE KEY!!!" sounds very dubbed on)

I wonder what lead to that "Olga Bisera as Felicca" credit. Neither the actress nor the character seems to warrant that.

In the earlier Bonds, whenever there was an accent which was either too heavy for audiences of the time or the performer wasn't quite scoring a bullseye on their delivery, EON had Nikki Van der Zyl and Robert Rietty on standby to loop them. Chances are that NVdZ dubbed Munro's lines, as I suspect that a decision was made that her normal accent didn't quite fit with the character. Same with Leon.

I was a guest at a convention a few years ago, with both actresses also appearing as guests, and wish I we had chatted about that in the green room rather than the sodding Isle of Wight! I'd have loved to have gotten their unfiltered opinion about it. Oh, well - 20/20 hindsight, and all that.

I'll just break out the Dust-Buster and attend to these names on the floor...

It was Barbara Jefford who dubbed Munro in Spy, not Van Der Zyl. Jefford also dubbed Daniela Bianchi in FRWL and Molly Peters in Thunderball.

Which one's she? Dessert or the message?

I love Skyfall and No Time to Die. Spectre sucks, though.

He's not saying that she doesn't deserve a credit. Just that she doesn't deserve the "and" credit which is usually reserved for notable stars in supporting roles and/or for playing notable characters (e.g. the credits for Robert De Niro as Al Capone, and Sean Connery as Malone in The Untouchables). Neither Bisera, nor the character she plays are particularly notable.
