Paramount will be releasing the fourth season of Star Trek: Discovery on December 6th. There will be a regular Blu-ray release, as well as a Limited Edition Steelbook edition.

I like the standard cover better than the steelbook which has been the case with the previous seasons too.It's the opposite with Star Trek Picard where i like the steelbook art more.

I'm going with the standard release again for Discovery.

That's a terrible cover for steelbook. Literally just a picture of her with random junk flying around her with no actual context. At least the others had some sort of emblems or graphics on them.

Anyone else receive the standard release and confirm if it actual comes with a slip cover?

Just received mine from Bull Moose sans slip. Not sure if Paramount changed it's mind or they were only providing slips to certain retailers.

I saw a wal mart employee putting it on the shelf last week! No slipcover on bd , I think the dvd had one, I don’t remember for sure bc I was in shock bd didn’t have one.

Oh well, it doesn’t matter to see because I’m getting the steelbook. I feel bad for slipcover fans that are expecting to get one.

I wonder if the regular blu-ray will have stacked disks like Picard season 2 did.

Maybe there was some delays or error that meant and they couldn't get them in time for shipping to stores or something. I remember a decade ago, Funimation couldn't get them in time to ship out Summer Wars and they let people request them. Be nice if that happened for every studio.

Lower Decks and Picard had slipcovers but not Discovery? That’s just bizarre. I hope Strange New Worlds gets a slip.

Personally,I'll take no stacked disks over a slipcover if I have to choose.

So Picard had a slip with stacked disks and Discovery has no slip, no stacked disks. What are they doing over there at paramount?

I got the Picard steelbook so those weren't stacked.I have the Strange New World's steelbook on pre-order so I'm hoping those won't be stacked.I get the standard releases for Discovery because I haven't liked the art for the steelbooks so I am happy to hear they aren't stacked.Like I said,I would take no slip cover but no stacked disks over a slipcover and stacked disks if I had to choose.I was sort of resolved to stacked disks with this so that lessened the disappointment of no slip.
