I believe it's the same one. I was parapharsing since most releases that have been shot in 1.85:1 would be released in 1.78:1 on home video. It buries the version Echo Bridge released stateside. I think it had a 2.0 soundtrack here, but Canada's version was full DD5.1. |

Received my BD of Open Range from Amazon France. IMO, if you are a fan of the movie then it is a worthwhile upgrade over the DVD.

Yes I stopped selling Discs on eBay, because it wasn't worth it. Just hold on to your Discs, as they get older and harder to find they will go up in value. For now 4K, especially Collectors Box Sets could bring in some good cash. I imagine some speculators will buy up those expensive Limited Edition 4K Box Sets, unopened marked up should be a very good sell.

You certainly won't see any of the digital titles in your collection increasing in value, but you will get to enjoy endless rate hikes from your internet service provider to access them.

Well nothing last forever, even Discs you guys have to depend on two things the Discs and the Player. I understand some people are having some problems with some Discs and some Players. I'll bank on the Server lasting longer for my Movies and Shows.

My disc combo packs typically include a second disc copy and the digital code. I get three ways to watch and two of them do not require an internet connection. I have multiple disc players and none of them have failed. Even my 23 year-old laserdisc player still works fine. As for disc failures, I have had about three dozen discs fail over 30+ years of collecting making my disc failure rate about 0.47%. Among those that did fail, the studios or retailers replaced most of these for free. I will bank on owning what I buy on a permanent disc that is actually in my possession and that is immune to revisionism, outright deletions, and that does not require an ever more costly internet service provider. I have a ton of standard DVDs and BD's that I will be getting rid off but I'm gonna use Decluttr and SecondSpin. I've used them in the past and they tend to pay way more than what you will get via eBay/Amazon, with exception of those collector sets you mentioned. Decluttr also takes BD/DVD imports. Decluttr also lets you ship to them for free via UPS and SecondSPin will reimburse your shipping once they receive the packages(s) via USPS media mail. |

I have a vast number of codes that I could easily sell as there are so many people eager to buy into the digital "ownership" fantasy, but it seems kind of dishonest to sell such gullible people an illusion. It would be such easy money, too, but it would make me feel like a conman perpetuating a scam.
I also won't sell them because it does nothing to support the film industry. Likewise, I do not sell my duplicate discs for the exact same reason. Last edited by Vilya; 02-06-2020 at 09:41 PM. |

Apart from being a dying, pointless format that is. Digital HD is basically subscription streaming’s ***** at this stage. The annoying friend that no one wants to invite to the party. Dead on arrival I say. |
