I think something changed to where this is now stopped for printing? Amazon ran out and nobody else is selling copies for under a few bucks USD lately.

Loved Rumble in the Bronx when I was a kid.

Might just be Out Of Stock like King Kong Escapes was for a while. Stores stopped selling it for a week or two until a new stock came in.

Or they are OOP and they will be getting Archive releases with the original HK versions.......which probably isn't the reason but one can hope.

Just saw this was suddenly unavailable on Amazon and thought I'd see if anyone knew what's going on. Doesn't look like there are any offers from third-party sellers either. Very weird.

There are a couple pretty cheap listings on eBay still; just grabbed one just in case.

Came to ask the same question. Nobody’s restocked Rumble for a few weeks now and of course I always forget these until it’s too late. Grabbed one on the bay while I can.

Maybe Warner are letting Rumble go OOP, so an uncut Warner Archive release can be released. We can only hope.

Yeah, apparently an HD scan of the uncut First Strike has shown up on TV and been uploaded to at least one private torrent tracker (none I'm in, unfortunately). I've picked up these old discs just in case, but I'm prepared to double-dip if better editions are coming. Hope Supercop gets one too; that one's been especially unlucky on Blu-ray.

Also the subs have some typos.

It's still the best Official release though, for better or for worst.

OK. That didn't really bother me when I watched it.

Thanks. I figured that when I bought it.

I have that release; in terms of what I'd hope to see improved on a Warner Archive or other new release, I'd say its shortcomings are:
  • No original mono
  • No original export dub
  • No US version
  • Uncorrected L'Immagine Ritrovata color grading
  • I don't mind the original HK English subtitles being included, but a new, more polished translation would be nice

That's not to say I'd expect all of these things from a Hong Kong catalog disc, but there's plenty of room for improvement.

That disc is also still better than any of the US Blu-rays, which exclusively use the US version and are almost all cropped to 16:9. The only version that uses the full original aspect ratio is in a multipack with some Steven Seagal movies.

WAC didn't exactly go the extra mile with their DMII release so I wouldn't be expecting too much!

I like PS3 but not enough to double dip if a new (and better??) release came along.

That's true. I think the minimum I'd expect would be the same transfer and subs, but with the original mono tracks and the export dub, which is pretty much what they did with Drunken Master II.

The Mr. Nice Guy release at least sets a precedent for the inclusion of the US cut as well, though The Legend of Drunken Master was absent from the DMII release, so it's not exactly a sure thing either.

There's two of those:

The 4 pack also has Equilibrium and The Yards in their correct aspect ratio for those who may be interested.

Drunken Master II has three versions:

Original full-length Golden Harvest Hong Kong release
1994 Golden Harvest truncated release
2001 Miramax truncated release

Warner only has the right to distribute the Golden Harvest versions and would have to pay Miramax for the 2001 “Legend of Drunken Master” version.
