I had to do this with Duncan. I paid way too much for LD-S2 then he went missing in action due to his wife dying and him being an alcoholic. I had to give up to ever see that ever and settled for an LD-S1 that I was lucky to get off ebay. can't do anything about since stupid me I didn't save any communication with him.

Posting Spencers latest LD pickup video. A much shorter video by Spencers standards. But still packed with knowledge.

Typical Slimedude posts on this thread:
"You knew the technology was old so you have no one to blame but yourself!"
"What did you expect from a format that's over 40 years old." (sic)
"The seller is no longer responsible for the player he sold you! Consider this loss of $$$ on you."

How does the audio track sound on Alien (1979) compared with the 4K version?

Thanks for sharing. Yes, it was a shorter one but I figured I might as well keep up as I go along instead of doing the usual mammoth video.

The letterbox LD boxset has the original 2.0 Dolby Stereo which sounds ok and has made it over in other forms to DVD, BD and UHD.
What hasn't is the ac3 5.1 on the 1995 letterbox remaster. They took the Sensurround test mix with some different music cues, dialogue bits and temp differences. I call this the "pee your pants" mix as it's crazily intensive and jam packed with low end. If this had been released in Sensurround in 1979 people would have fainted.

Here is a picture of my Terminator home video collection. Terminator 1 is the THX release, while T2 is the Super35 version.

Nice.

Now you just need the Squeeze version of T2.

I have no need for the Squeeze, as the snapcase has the CDS 5.1 mix on it. I am still looking for the German HD-DVD version, which continues to elude me.

Try checking on LDF. That would probably be your best bet for finding parts.

Pretty much....See my vid in post #4569

For some reason slimdude thought I purchased the player from Kurtis which was not the case. No idea where he even got that from.

But yeah...this player has given me problems from the start. Got it back up and running after a new speed sensor but then it stopped spinning discs after a short while and the motor started making some unwanted sounds. I figure the motor is shot so I'll have to hunt one down, if possible.
