We're way overdue for a William Hartnell or Patrick Troughton boxset.
Shame they won't happen unless the still missing 97 episodes get animated.

I really hope not. I'm in the US and can't pre-order from Amazon UK currently, so I'd miss out which would be a shame.

Season 2 and 6 should be doable. Season 2 is only missing two episodes and season 6 is missing seven episodes, however The Invasion has already been animated, which would leave The Space Pirates missing an episode. However that's only missing a single episode that could be filled in with a well produced telesnap reconstruction with some limited animation.

The other seasons on the other hand, those going to be a tough one for sure. BBC has said that they're not waiting until the very end of the line for those seasons, but when one will happen, that's a mystery...

Only episode 2 of Space Pirates exists, the other 5 are missing.

It would be nice to celebrate Patrick Troughton's centenary this year with the most complete season that is available (season 6) released on Blu-ray.

As Lea74 said, there's five episodes of The Space Pirates missing, but there's one big problem standing in the way of a tele-snap reconstruction - there aren't any tele-snaps for it and very few photographs.

As far as anyone's aware the last tele-snaps John Cura ever took for the series were for an episode of The Mind Robber, around seven months before he died.

If they combined both teams to The Crusade missing episodes they could get a Season 2 release out.

Season 1's quite possible too.
The Reign of Terror's already got it's missing episodes animated - done for the DVD.
That leaves Marco Polo - 7 missing episodes - but the animation teams have already said they almost certainly won't be animating it (or the missing Crusade eps) - too many extras or costumes or something - so that means a telesnap recon.

That's a bummer. At least i managed to get that set with those wrongly labeled discs. Dunno if i'll bother to contact BBC studios for replacement. Why not keep this unique set.

Just email the BBC, they'll replace it without issues whenever they get around to it.

Well, you should contact BBC, don't have to right now but when the replacement discs are issued definately do so, you don't send the item back they will send replacement discs for free after you provide proof of purchase so you will have two sets of discs.

I think Zavvi's inventory in general is pretty low at present. I have around 6 Blus/UHDs which are still outstanding and would normally have been dispatched by now.

The one thing I was starting to consider is maybe zavvi are in trouble? Maybe not paying suppliers and therefore they are not getting new stock? Seems unlikely but you never know....

The way things are in the world right now, that isn't such a stretch.
