I bought "ODDTAXI BLU-RAY BOX".

When it was released on the official website, it cost about 30,000 yen, so I gave up buying it, but when the regular version was released on Amazon for 21,195 yen, I bought it immediately.

It was good that the three-sided back box was made of cardboard about 2 mm. However, the size is about 1 cm longer and wider than the tall size of a normal DVD.

Is it only the Digipak releases of K-On that have english subs? It became a favorite of mine and I want a nicer packaging release but I do want it to be functional as I'd look to sell my Sentai set to help with the cost.

Yes, only the digipak releases have english subs. The movie release does not have english subs so you'd need to keep your Sentai copy of that.

The cheaper re-releases don't include subs, but also have 14 episodes per disc with no extras (such as the shorts) in plain Blu-ray cases, so are probably not recommended for what you're looking for.

I could get a copy of that JP Odd Taxi Regular Edition box set from CDJapan for $176 including Fedex shipping right now, I have ¥1800 in points expiring in 3 days from previous purchases there, and there is a coupon code available as well, so I would save about ¥2800 off the price, which would cover most of the international shipping cost. I'm just so strapped for cash right now, with all my hospital bills, not sure if I can swing it to pull the trigger. I really enjoyed that series, and would love to have the JP box set.

Looks like that release is OOS right now at Amazon JP. It's weird that not even CDJapan or YesAsia reports English subtitles for this (especially YesAsia, they are pretty reliable at reporting this), but as seen above, it certainly does.

Amazon JP's probably OOS because they had it marked down; I got it from them for $144, and that's the final total, including standard international shipping.

The lack of clear information was why I was hesitant to order it, but the confirmation I got here was enough. I just finished watching it yesterday, in fact. It does make me wonder if there's any other releases out there with subs that we just don't know about, though.

Amazon Japan is suddenly no longer shipping a bunch of anime to me; I've noticed for the last little while a couple of pre-orders I was interested in were not available to me, and recently I had 5 items I was considering ordering that switched to unavailable for shipping to me.

Anyone know what's going on? Is this an issue others are having as well?

I have no idea what's going on but the same thing has been happening to me. I had a cart full of Blu-rays I was sitting on and now none of them are available to ship to the US. Seems all I can get now are books.

Preorders seem to be fine for me but anything in stock is no longer available for shipping.

Well, since Amazon JP is Out of Stock of Odd Taxi, and now is shutting off orders to the US for in-stock items, I went ahead and ordered Odd Taxi from CDJapan, and it went through OK. The exchange rate actually dropped some since this morning, and I got it for almost a dollar cheaper, at $175. I wonder if Amazon may be shutting down some international shipping again because of another wave of Covid or something? Well hopefully my order from CDJapan ships out before any lockdown takes effect for all the JP vendors.

I don't mind paying a bit more ordering from CDJapan, as they pack their Blu-ray shipments very well, wrapped with a lot of paper or bubblewrap and snugly packed inside a sturdy box, unlike Amazon Japan which has been moving more and more towards using unpadded bags for their international shipping of Blu-rays, even if a Newtype is ordered with the Blu-ray. You're no longer guarranteed Amazon's plank-in-the-box packaging for better protection.

Same here. Everything on my AmzJPN wishlist is now unavailable to be shipped to me. On the other hand, I went to AmzUK and I haven't looked at stuff there for awhile but now everything is listed in USD including the shipping which I didn't have before.

We need an insider ninja. 90% of the stuff I had in the cart unavailabeled itself as I was gonna place an order, when a couple of days ago it was all orderable. If they had sent a warning, I woulda ordered the day before! . What's peculiar that not only most pre-orders are a go but that some released stuff from the same label is orderable and another isn't, like being able to order album II from the same artist but not album III, etc. or the limited edition but not the regular, when all of them are "in stock"

It stinks to hear about Amazon Japan, but hopefully they resume US shipping soon. CD Japan is still shipping as normal. They just mailed out some CDs I ordered. Has anyone tried contacting Amazon support to ask about what's going on there?

Amazon.uk stopped international shipments when Covid, and later they ended just like Amazon.jp is right now: Only shipping Pre-orders and a few sprinkles of the already released, but the older "already released" items shipping, has never come back.

It's so peculiar cus you can order the Doctor Who: The Abominable Snowmen Steelbook but you can not the regular edition even tho they have the same release date.

The difference? Regular's pre-order listing came out a long time ago I think when they still had the shipping "clamp", before they reinstated the availability of ordering pre-orders, while the Steelbook pre-order listing came out after they did the partial lifting of the "clamp" and you could order stuff like pre-orders again.
