Exclamation Sony UBP-X800M2 (DVD-ROM error)

Hey folks,

Just want to know if anyone has experienced this issue. My UBP-X800M2 Region Free modded unit arrived from 220 Electronics today. Working fine, updated with no issues. Region switching works. Tested UHD and a Region A and B no issues.

A film also arrived from Amazon today, an obscure release by a publisher I have no experience with:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Obses...lu-ray/275006/

When putting the disc in it attempts to run but after about 20 seconds or so it fails and the on screen disc label says BD-ROM. The Disc is a multi region, but just to be thorough I tried it on both Region A and B settings, finally I brought out my old LG BP350 and it started up and worked fine.

Like I mentioned before I have tested the new sony unit with a few other titles and no issues, but for there to be this issue with this one movie on day one of owning the player has me concerned.

Anyone experienced this before? Thanks

Hey there, turns out is the disc. I just got lucky when i tried the disc in my old LG player, it started up and figured it was the new player with an issue. (Note: The disc is not a BD-R, BD-ROM is the official name for blu ray technology like CD-ROM and DVD-ROM). Though I do have a couple BD-R Films (Ken Park from MaddyGTV, and Let Me Make You a Martyr from FilmRise).

I mention the BD-R stuff because I saw a reply from someone suggesting it may be related to my player being unable to read BD-R's. Anyhow turns out I got lucky with the Braid BD when I first put it in my old LG player as it booted up normal, now I cannot get it to work in that one.

Issue resolved: Bad Disc

Glad you got it figured out. Enjoy the region-free X800M2!
