When Do You See Yourself Getting a Xbox Series X/S?

As for me, I'm not sure when I'm getting one. Probably at some point next year for the Series X. I would have considered getting one at launch just for the load times, but I had no chance of getting one.

Well 1 common thing people all seem to point out with their preview builds is the SX is dead silent.

Though the GPU isn’t using RDNA 2 to boost BC titles. MS clarified that when DF were running their performance tests. The CPU is what is making these games hit 60.

Will have to wait for real NG games for SX to get the full picture of how well this console performs.

Missed this thread. I impulse ordered mine from Microsoft right at midnight on launch night. Got a delivery estimate of 12/23, but ended up shipping on Thanksgiving got it on 11/30. Also scored a PS5 from Costco.com on launch day that arrived on 11/25 (picked up on 11/28 as I had it sent to a UPS Store as we were out of town.

Glad I got and kept both as they’re both getting a lot of usage. Gamepass is an incredible value and has a bunch of games I want to play or replay.

I really wish the S was actually the X without the optical drive like Sony did with the PS5.

Yeah. I was seconds away from ordering a Series S, until I realized it was not a full 4K gaming system. Ended up landing a Series X from Best Buy. They had it for me early, so I was able to pick it up yesterday. I picked up my Series X, and got an Xbox One copy of Madden for $22, then upgraded it to the Series X version for free. And also grabbed Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion, The Falconeer, Cyberpunk 2077 and Immortals Fenyx Rising.

Would buy a Series X, if you could actually just buy one in a store. But I am in no rush, can definitely wait until the new Halo will be released...

Yeah, I'll be honest - I have a hard time figuring out exactly who the audience is for the S. I'm glad that there is an option there for people who want it, and apparently some do want it - but it just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

If it is the cost issue - I'd rather save up a little longer to get the good one. The storage on the "all digital" console is paltry - I mean, it only really holds a few games. And if you are going to buy the additional storage at $200+, well, you just spent more than the Series X to begin with.

It's just hard for me to see the value. But again, glad the option is available for those that do find it fits their needs.

Storage is definitely too limited for an all digital console.

Otherwise to me the market is just people on a lower budget who will be on 1080p TVs for the foreseeable future. XSX isn't worth the extra $200 to someone who likely won't have a 4K TV to pair it with anytime soon. Storage wise, I'd guess a lot of those folk only play a game or two at a time anyway so maybe it's moot for them as they can just delete when done.

For someone with an old TV and no plans to upgrade, XSS can make a nice cheap gaming option with it's price and paired with Gamepass.

I got the S because im mainly a PC gamer, and I just wanted a cheap console on the side for game pass and Madden/Fifa.

Very cool. I swear my main issue with Stadia isn't Stadia. It's my paranoia that my ISP would eventually add a limit to my account, if I ended up using as much bandwidth as Stadia requires for a decent experience.
