Halo 1 always brings back fond memories but there's something about Halo 2 that I think I like more. I, unlike most it seems really enjoyed playing as the Arbiter and having his Covenant comrades with him on occasion.

Playing as an alternate character though is what I felt ruined Halo 5 so go figure. I didn't give a damn for any of them. Sorry Buck, you were great as an ODST in Halo 3: ODST but I could care less that you became a Spartan

Plus putting the Chief as a secondary character when most of the game was based on those wannabe Spartans was a huge mistake not to mention this was the 1st time in a Halo game we finally got to see Blue Team and they had to play 2nd fiddle to these other Spartans was insulting as a Halo fan

In a recent Mixer broadcast,(via GameSpot) 343 Industriesí Jeff Easterling has confirmed that Halo: Infinite is indeed Halo 6 ó even if itís not called directly by that title.

It is Halo 6. You should just consider it Halo 6. Donít think of it as a weird prequel kind of thing. Itís the next story. Itís the next chapter in what is going on.

Aside from that tidbit, we also know that Master Chief will be the central protagonist in Halo: Infinite, which is a departure from Halo 5 where players divided time playing as the Chief and Agent Locke.

I think we all kind of expected it to be 6. That being said, where do they go with the story? Continue with the quagmire they have, soft reboot.......?

Story wise I don't know, but I'd like them to try and do what Bungie originally intended the game to be before starting from scratch on Xbox and have it ironically be a Destiny clone. From what I've read Destiny is what they wanted HALO to be all those years ago.

I don't want that at all. Even if they do it better they'll be raked over the coals for "copying" simply because it's an MS studio.

https://www.usgamer.net/articles/hal...-to-new-report

Quote:
Every game is an RPG these days. Assassin's Creed famously adopted some pretty meaty RPG elements, and God of War has done much the same. Now there are some suggestions that Halo Infinite may be the latest series to try and adopt some additional depth.

In a report containing a bunch of new Microsoft rumors, the tech news site Thurrott is reporting that Halo Infinite will have a story that "adapt[s] to decisions the user makes." It may also have "more RPG elements than prior versions of the series." This is on top of its brand new Slipspace Engine," which was previously revealed last year.

If Halo Infinite is anything like other triple-A action games with RPG elements, it stands to reason that it will have some kind of tech tree and crafting mechanics. Both of these elements have become pretty standard in big-budget games of late.

I think adding RPG elements into this series would be a really great and fresh idea. I'm all for it.

I don't mind RPG elements in games, but I do mind the grind that they build into them, and then offer you a '2x your normal points' for $4.99 extra

"HALO INFINITE" (PROJECT SCARLETT, XBOX ONE AND WINDOWS 10 PC). The Master Chief returns in 2020 when "Halo Infinite" releases globally with Project Scarlett. This next chapter in 343 Industries' legendary Halo franchise invites players to join the venerable Master Chief on an all-new adventure as he uncovers the mysteries surrounding the appearance of "The Pilot" and the desolate remains of a Halo ring. "Halo Infinite" is powered by the studio's next-generation Slipspace Engine.

I was really hoping for them to reveal Marty on stage for the music. He's been teasing with his Tweets lately.

I wonder what Chief was doing floating is space?

I beat 5. Unfortunately that game was somewhat forgettable for me. I have a feeling they know that and will make this the Halo game we need.

Halo Infinite Creative Director Leaves Company

Tim Longo, creative director for the upcoming Halo Infinite, left developer 343 Industries this week, Kotaku has learned. Itís part of a leadership shakeup that arrives late in the development of the next Halo game, which is scheduled for release in fall 2020.

Longo, an industry veteran who also served as creative director for Halo 5, had moved to a different role a few weeks ago, according to two people familiar with goings-on at 343. This week, he left the company entirely.

When reached by Kotaku, Microsoft confirmed Longoís departure and sent over the following statement:

Quote:
Roles and responsibilities of various team members regularly evolve to meet the needs of a game, throughout development. We have recently had two changes to the Halo Infinite development team. Our Executive Producer, Mary Olson will now take charge of the Campaign team on Halo Infinite as the Lead Producer, utilizing her many years of experience at 343 to help craft a great campaign for fans.

Additionally, Tim Longo has recently departed our team and we are truly thankful for his many contributions to our games, our studio and the Halo universe. We wish Tim nothing but the best in his future endeavors.

The overall creative vision and production of the game remains led by Chris Lee, Studio Head of Halo Infinite.

We have a world-class team building Halo Infinite and the overwhelming positive response by fans has us energized, more than ever, to create the best Halo game to date, alongside Project Scarlett in holiday 2020. These changes have no impact to the release date for Halo Infinite.
In addition to releasing on Xbox One and PC, Halo Infinite will be a launch game for the next-generation Xbox, which is codenamed Scarlett. Itís envisioned as a ďspiritual rebootĒ for the series, according to 343 studio head Bonnie Ross. The studio hasnít shown any actual gameplay just yet, but put out a cinematic trailer featuring protagonist Master Chief at E3 of this year.

Well, if you look at the surrounding circumstances this departure occurred just days after Retro posted a job advert for Director of Development, so maybe he's making Metroid now?
