Xbox Games Showcase - July 23rd

Microsoft has confirmed the much-rumoured date it will show Xbox Series X games from its own studios.

Halo Infinite and more will star in a livestream due in two weeks, on Thursday 23rd July at 5pm UK time (midday Eastern, 9am Pacific).

Microsoft's event will also be preceded by an hour-long pre-show, hosted by the ubiquitous Geoff Keighley.

As well as a proper gameplay reveal for Halo: Infinite, we expect other new and returning franchises from a range of Microsoft developers - including British team Playground Games and fresh San Francisco studio The Initiative.

Xbox Insider Teases What Games to Expect at Xbox Series X Event

An industry insider has teased what Xbox Series X and Xbox One games Xbox fans can expect at Microsoft's big Xbox Games Showcase event later this month.

For starters, there's Halo Infinite. Microsoft has already confirmed the new Halo will be at the showcase and that fans will get their first-ever look at its gameplay. Meanwhile, we also know Double Fine's Psychonauts 2 will be present.

The insider, Venture Beat's Jeff Grub, also suggests Hellblade II, Wasteland 3, Age of Empires IV, Everwild (Rare's new game), and a new Forza will be present.

Grubb also mentions Playground Games not-so-secret open-world game will be revealed at the show. It's heavily rumored this is either Fable 4 or a Fable reboot.

Meanwhile, the report claims the debut game from The Initiative won't be present, which is contrary to some previous rumors and reports about the event. There's also no mention fo Obsidian, who is rumored to be working on an ambitious RPG that some are saying will be revealed during the event. The report also comes we won't see anything from Mojang, the makers of Minecraft.

Grub confirms there will be third-party games, but doesn't disclose any specifics. What is noted is that we won't see the rumored Xbox Series S or hear about the release date or price point for the Xbox Series X. Source

If MS pulls off acquiring WB, my God that would be so huge! Having the Batman license all to itself along with Harry Potter? I don't care how you feel about Xbox, that would be REALLY hard to ignore! I was most likely getting a Series X anyway (not at launch but down the road) but Batman exclusivity would certainly ensure that I would.

Rumour is that Forza 8 (which might not even be called Forza 8) is going with the less-is-more approach, with fewer cars than FMS7. Should be very interesting to see that. And you also have my vote for an all-new IP from MS. I mean, how old is Halo now!

We will def see new IPs. Microsoft bought all those studios for a reason.

I prefer quality over quantity any day. And please no clown suits. T10 broke their 2 yr release pattern last year so there's good chance Forza Next will be announced.

Last year my jaw literally dropped upon seeing first 5 seconds of the Flight Simulator. With PC release coming in August 18th, I am hoping there are some good news on XBOX version.

1080p at 60fps. Whereas Sony's was 1080p 30fps. MS is going all out to one-up Sony's event, even down to the framerates, LOL.
