Default Ah ha! Proof I wasn't as nuts as you all thought I was!

Now I swear. Proof that I wasn't freakin' nuts after all. You folks totally SLAMMED me for being off my rocker and flat on the floor when I found out over the last couple of months that Blu-Ray discs were being used for a TOTALLY different reason than what I understood that they were going to be used for after YEARS of waiting for it to be released since the year 2001 or so.

Now again. I TOTALLY think Blu-Ray's capacity should be used for High Definition before getting more hours onto one layer of a disc but it certainly IS different from what I understood it was going to be used for for a LONG time until the last couple of months according to this article if I am understanding it right. Am I not? I just didn't understand the facts of High Definition and that a clear cut one way decision was made for the entire industry. Again I think that the decision is the right one but am I still to understand that the storage space should be able to be increased more and more to hold more hours on one layer like it was originally thought it would?

I wonder if that's still a possibility or if any company will ever do something like this: putting about 20+ hours of dvd resolution video on blu-ray disc. Some think this may be crazy, but it may be good for having old tv shows that can't really be upgraded to 1080p, but you have have all of "Threes Company: Season One" on one disc!

It's a great idea, but I think they will have a REALLY hard time getting the read/write speed to a usable level (getting all that information on and reading it off the disc quickly).
