With all the sales this week for blu-ray I doubt Transformers will overrun Blu-ray this week. They will be limited to their userbase which is much more limited than Blu-ray's userbase. It will sell well no doubt for an HD-DVD title and will probably be there best selling disc so far, but for every Transformers bought this week, there will be at least 2 blu-rays bought if not more. Hmmm, odds have to be in Blu's favor unless Transformers can sell tons of new HD-DVD standalones!!! No worries, Transfomers will be on Blu is a about 16 months anyway and probably with better picture and audio quality (if you cant wait, buy the fricken DVD to tide you over).

I am going to buy Pirates tomorrow and get the second one free, so when the third one comes out I will have all three. I am going to buy Transformers though (Only on DVD of course, you couldn't pay me to watch HD DVD)

Does it really matter?

No

Studios look at sales at a whole, not sales of one individual week. And I don't know any individual who pays attention to nielson/videoscan ratios who is not already decisively involved in one format or the other.

Buy now, enjoy your movies. Your whole five movies isn't going to change the weekly percentage one mark, whether you buy on Sunday or Tuesday.

I'm Christian and the first day of the week for Christians is Monday. I guess if you're Jewish then the first day of the week is Sunday. I'm not sure about any other religions.

I bought 3 movies this week. Am not buying any movies this week (just nothing that interests me) and will be getting 6! next week.

My position has always been to buy what we want and when we want. I don't want to buy a title just to buy a title.

There are SO many threads on the Transformers Movie and how we have to battle this, but there are other HD-DVD movies coming out that will appeal to consumers as well. So much focus on one movie.

As a result, the colors are off, grain completely filtered out, linework filtered out, detail smeared and no actual repairs being done to film print damage. I don't trust them not to do the same to their BD releases. The only real saving grace is that OAR for the movies are 1.85:1, so at least they won't screw that up.
Those season box sets of DBZ that are coming out now they were shot in 1080p from a Sony HD camera or something like that with the 1.81:1 with the 5.1 surround option and i watched them on my 720p HDTV and the picture looked a lot better then the original we watched on Toonami. i was impressed by it i mean sure some of the picture came out weird sometimes but for the most part their HD transfer of the seasons of DBZ were still better then i hoped for

I used to be catholic, and while we beleieved Sunday to be the las day of the week (the day God rested), most catholics i knew/know still wouldnt think of monday as the first day of the week in a professional or secular setting, officially Sunday is the first day of the week, I dont know why nielsen wants it to be monday.
