Not I.

Boycotting Blu-ray will do no one any good. It will only hurt the format and give other companies incentive to drop their support.
You have to buy Blu-ray now to convince them it is still strong even without Paramount.

I think we should buy Paramount Movies on Blu-ray to show them what they'll be missing. Boycotting Blu-ray only proves to Paramount that they made the right decision.

Do not buy any Paramount movies on DVD or HD-DVD. If you buy them on Blu-ray, they might see how stupid that choice was and that will have some weight when the numbers come round.

He'll get tossed out on his ass. I'm sure they'll settle by sending him an HD DVD player.

He can still watch it on his player on DVD

Seriously, do you want us to look as bad as the morons in the HD zealot thread?

I have noticed, particularly in My area Wal-Marts. the increase in Blu- Ray titles. all the recent movies, beginning with Ghost Rider , there has been a steady increase in the selection of titles, but you have to buy them when you see them, because they sell fast. I have only seen 300 and TMNT on HDDVD there and it was still there.........
I believe if a studio could get Wal-Mart to segregate a section to Blu-Ray titles(old and New) near the Electronics Area, It would create more buzz and you would see Blu-Ray fly off the shelves. The only issue I would see is the lack of education with consumers(they think just because the dvd player upverts to high def, it plays Blu-Ray)
With 3000 + stores and the performance I have seen out of Target's High def section... This would definetly nail the casket shut on HDDVD

Uh, guess I was the only one who read the article that said Paramount was brib...er, requested to continue as a dual-format studio, thus not changing much?

(Except for the independent Dreamworks Animation, who got the all-HD bribe directly?)

I would go further and say, don't buy anything other then Blu Ray product from Paramount or Viacom. Let the consumers choose, hence let the market forces align themselves. If everyone is that in love with HD-DVD, then so be it, but I believe the market will end up with Blu. It will just now take longer because Microsoft wants everyone to be able to digitally download movies (from their sites of course), this is why you have Paramount being the latest wh$$ to sell out for a few bucks.

Default For those who were going to buy Face-Off or Jack Ryan

Not sure who owns Jack Ryan overseas, but...

If you want to try to send a probably pointless message, and have your cake and eat it with better sound. Buy the Japanese Face-off, and take your picture holding it. Print it and send it SNAIL MAIL to Paramount. Do the same with any other future Paramount titles available overseas on Blu.

http://www.cdjapan.co.jp is probably the cheapest option

A Blu-ray boycott would help their cause.

What you need to do boycott Paramount & Dreamworks DVD & HD-DVD products.

Default Top 50 Grossing Paramount / Dreamworks Movies... what will you miss?

Today's news has shaken me. I pray that Spielberg continues to lean Blu. Obviously any studio executive can be bought now. It's time for the BRA to just pull the trigger and end this war or Blu will lose. Buy off Warner and give Fox something to get their rear end moving. Sony has to open their wallets take the short term loss and focus on long term gain.

Below is the top 50 grossing Paramount / Dreamworks movies, other than Spielberg, what will you miss?

1. Titanic (1997)

12. Mission: Impossible II (2000)
13. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) - (Steven Spielberg – Director/Producer)
14. Madagascar (2005)

I forgot about it looking better for HD-DVD if I stop buying.... but Sony has yet to respond. It better be good... they better offer to buy the rights to Paramount movies so we see them on blu-ray.

Heck, they better buy Paramount! MS may offer financial incentive, but they don't own Paramount.

The whole Transformers thing is what killed me. Again, that is why I bought blu-ray!

I'm with you tron3, I already canceled all my preorders at Amazon, when they asked for a reason I said "No longer purchasing any hi-def movies because of Paramount announcement." I want no part in another endless and destructive format war.

New releases interest me more than old catalog titles (not gonna re-buy my DVD's, that's for sure). Of those, Paramount/Dreamworks only has two: Transformers (admittedly, this is huge for me and I'm seriously bummed) and Shrek (I could care less personally, but it is big).

This isn't such a big deal. The catalog titles that matter are Speilberg directed.

If anything, this should finally kick the BDA's ass into gear so they quit being responsive and start thinking proactively. In the end, this could be the thing that ultimately puts the nail in HDDVD's coffin.

I just canceled mine too. I'm done and finished with this war and HDM. Considering I'm not the only one canceling, and it's 300 dollars worth of movies, I'm sure that Amazon is feeling the pinch today with many others who are now sick and tired of this war.

Oh and any Paramount folks reading this board, screw you. You'll not be getting any of my money on HD-DVD, ever. Nor DVD, nor the box office. You just screwed out 2/3rds of the HDM, prolonged the format war that was almost over, and let Microsoft win.

What Mr. Woo said. The money from this foreign BD is not going to Paramount but to Buena Vista Home Entertaintment, as they have the foreign rights.

I am pissed! I just bought my player last week exclusively in anticipation of Transformers later this year. But just today Paramount is saying Transformers will be an HD-DVD title only! In that ugly brown case to boot!

Sony needs to respond and quick. I am boycotting anymore blu-ray movie purchases until I see blu-ray is back. While this will not end blu-ray, it will create new sales of HD-DVD players for the Transformers title. It is now a political tool!

Sony needs to re-extend the olive branch and white flag and fix this for the consumers! If not, I see me selling this on ebay before the month is over.
If Toshiba and company won't play, then fight fire with fire. But use "smart bombs".

The only way to retain consumer trust is to make combo players. Those guys want to continue making movies their way, then fine... let them. But give me a choice of which format to buy. Blu-ray stands to loose a LOT MORE consumer trust if we don't get titles like Transformers on blu-ray. It only is the greatest summer flick of all time!

So, not only do we petition Paramount, we petition Sony as well. Settle on a format, or support both with your players. Anything else and all you turkeys loose my business forever! Who is with me? <Starts handing out pitch forks and torches.>
Why are you blaming Sony for the deceitful practices of Paramount and M$? Sony and Disney have done a ton to try to win this.
