LCD's are progressing in nature, and therefore de-interlace to their native resolutions. YOUR TV IS NOT 1080i unless it's a CRT based Rear Projo or an Actual CRT. Your LCD just accepts 1080i and turns it into 720. so you can tell your wife your tv now is Native 1280x720p (921,600 pixels), And the one you want has (2,073,600 pixels) ![]() |

Kristen here, my ex-girlfriend and my older sister are three women I know of that want better video. Most women can appreciate the improvement but because it's usually not a huge deal, they don't really see the value in it. Cheers to all the women who do.

Go with the investment line IMO - explain how it's a good deal, and that with everything switching over to 1080p your old TV is already obsolete. You'd forever be drooling over a 1080p set anyway, so might as well get it now if you have the money for it.

Sony's $300 Bravia Internet Video Link hits stores this July. It's one of the most elegant systems yet available that delivers Internet video to the TV. Your first question: What Internet video might that be? Yes, yes, it's a very good question. Before we get into that, though, let's see how it works. The module connects to the TV via HDMI (video and CEC) and USB (metadata, images and additional commands). It is compatible with most new Bravias, ones that have the PlayStation-style Cross Media Bar (XMB) menu system. On new Bravias, there is a spot for the included mounting bracket, but you can also use the included table stand. It is not wireless, and at $300, you're asking: Why the hell not? The timely answer is that Sony thought 802.11g was too slow, and since 802.11n wasn't fully ratified, they didn't want to sell something that would be obsolete or off-spec. (Insert crochety firmware-upgrade comment here.) http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/sony-tvs-...ery-266903.php |

from me a girl-
don't talk about that it is "better", cost & all that. Tell her that you got the wronge sized screen (You messed up, yes YOU) & that your getting eye strain, that it gives you a headache after watch a movie in the dark. Now, this will NOT work if you don't watch moives in the dark & she knows this!!! This is true, if you have too 'small' of a tv in a very dark room, it is hard on your eyes & can give people headaches. |

The headache line only works when you girls use it.

Tell her that you're the man of the house and go get it.
If you're not the man of the house, then perhaps you can say that if you get the TV, she gets something she really wants. And if that doesn't work, go out and buy a nice dress with some high-heels for yourself. ![]() |

![]() My 40" is located across my desk. I have a very good image because I sit close, lean back in my chair, put my feet up on something and watch a movie. It gets crowded if more than 3 are watching there, but otherwise it's quite comfortable. I want to have a larger screen in the living room where I can sit on the sofa by the fire and watch movies. I'm not going to mount a screen above the fireplace! The sofa will be off to one side, the screen off to the the other. But I'm sure I'll miss having the 40" at my desk if I trade-in. So I think I may just have to wait until I can spring for a second system. |

1. Get her to a store to show her the difference, visually.
2. Appeal to her emotional side. Just say you would really like one... 3. Movie nights at home for a more intimate experience for the two of you ( and family night if you have kids) 4. Finish that 2-year old "honeydo" list or promise to. 5. Allow for the counter-offer on what SHE wants. That top 5 is MONEY. Come on. Admit it. |
