Thumbs up Congrats to Blu-ray and their 200th title with Lossless audio!

According to www.blu-raystats.com Blu-ray now has 200 titles with lossless audio. Compare that to the paltry 57 titles on HD DVD. HD DVD really needs to get rid of their "Look and Sound of Perfect" since they obviously don't mean it.

Other notable accomplishments, next gen codecs (VC-1 and AVC) are more common than mpeg2 and BD-50's are almost at the 50% mark.

I always thought there slogan was cheesy enough for those "Only one payment of 19.99$ call now!" commercials.

EX- "Have you always wanted to experience the look and sound of perfect? well now you can! with HD-DUD! this 0$ dollar value can be yours for only one payment of $19.99 and if you call within the next 5 minutes will include a handy boiling pan for some of our frustrating unplayable discs a 40$ value can be yours free just simply pay $19.99 + S/H , call now!"

d00d it should be "Have you always wanted to experience the look and sound of perfect? well now you can! with HD-DUD! this 0$ dollar value can be yours for only one payment of $19.99 and if you call within the next 5 minutes we'll include a free HD-DVD player, a $1 value, ABSOLUTELY FREEEEEEE! But wait there's more. If you call within the next 10 years, we'll throw in Universal's entire line of qualilty encodes with near lossless audio, a value of..wait let me check...*talking to another guy* are you sure? really?....a value of $50 absolutely complimentary Simply pay $19.99 plus S/H and all this could be yours! CALL NOW!*

*HD-DVD might not look as good as other HD media, but hey it's really, really, really cheap.

Lossless audio is one of THE most important things for me with HD media, after a 1080p image.

So far I've noticed PCM sounding better than Dolby True HD (probably because of Dialog Normalization processing on Dolby tracks). I want the best. And Blu-ray consistently delivers... as long as it's Disney or Sony (and Fox, though I have yet to get to decode a DTS HD MA tracks... my next receiver!)

I HATE HD-DVD!! It sucks. Blu-ray is FAR superior.

The logo colour's better (very important)
The name's better (really important)
It holds 66% more storage for better audio, better video, more extra features, and more 66% data for home storage

If you want to go Hi-def, don't give us the half-a** DD+, give us lossless. I didn't know HD-DVD was that bad in audio. I guess I never checked cause I knew it sucked anyway. Now it sucks even more.

Good luck HD-Duddie!

I'm so desperately waiting for a PS3 update to fix this, even though I only own 1 Fox title, but I have a lot that are coming in the next two months.

It still amazes me how so many people can ignore the second most important aspect of film ever since they started making 'talkies'. The audio. Hell sometimes it can be the most important aspect of the film.

I remember when the first couple DTS DVD's came out at full 1.5mb soundtracks. Then they stopped doing that and few complained. Now the entire HD DVD group seems to be backing the same quality that DVD was capable of. Sorry, but I want more especially since we have already experience how great it can be. I don't want studios getting lazy like Paramount and Universal, and even Warner have been. If you can give us lossless audio and we know you can, then we as consumers should expect it.
