I agree, if nothing else, the new series will hopefully get renewed interest in bring the series over to the US.

All characters have radioactive glowing hairs in the trailer anyway. As Lum stands out with her turquoise hair, it is even more baffling. I don't mind it honestly. In fact, I believe they just tried to be closer to Rumiko Takahashi's original palette for Lum. Just look at the covers of the first tankōbon release. The colors are quite close ranging from green to slightly pink-purple, just as we see in some shots during the PV.

A strange bluer tint in rarer places like the Sega CD sprites.

In the manga Lum's hair changes color all the time, has something to do with her electrical based abilities. Looks like the new anime is using that concept as well.

I finally bought "Beautiful Dreamer" (its always gone out of stock every time I tried to order it previously!) and looking forward to watching it

I've never heard much about any of the other Lum movies (Beautiful Dreamer gets discussed quite a bit due to Oshii being the director) - are they good/worth getting?

I would say my favorite to least favorite would be 5, 2, 3, 1, 6, and 4.

2 and 5 are the best ones. 5 is actually the proper ending to the series as it adapts the last volume of the manga. 6 is just a bland afterthought that really has no reason to exist. 1+3 are in the spirit of the series. 4 I've yet to see but have always heard was really weird.

Movie 2 is the best, but I like 3 a lot too. 1 and 5 are decent (and 5 is important to the series overall, because of its role as the series ending). 6 is really forgettable and throwaway. Movie 4 is...well, I don't quite know how to describe it exactly, but it doesn't really fit the series or work as a movie, IMO; it felt like it was trying to do something different like movie 2 did, but failed spectacularly.

Beautiful Dreamer is a masterpiece. One of the best anime films ever made. The others unfortunately pale in comparison (imo), but they are still enjoyable, especially The Final Chapter.

2,3,4,5,1,6

Beautiful Dreamer is the best of the movies and also one of my Favorite movies of all time.
Movie 3 If a most worthy follow up.
Movie 4, is... well, I just like it, I can't quite explain it because its a movie that defies explanation. I just like the overall Feel of the whole thing.
Movie 5 is the series finale, Its excellent but I deduct it points because its hard to judge it on its own merits rather than view it as its place in the wider series.
1 is a perfectly fine movie, but unlike the others feels more like an extended episode of the TV series.
6 Is an Afterthought and I recommend watching it before vewing movie 5.
