LG and VE announce the HU810PW/AU810PB Dual Laser 4K Projector

LG's new HU810PW laser projector features 3 HDMI inputs, one is HDMI 2.1 and two HDMI 2.0b.

The HU810PW is equipped with a direct dual laser light source that eliminates the need for the less desirable RGB spinning wheel while delivering better color fidelity and color saturation. The long life and stable dual laser delivers peak luminance up to 2700 lumens for a true HDR cinema experience with full color volume and dynamic tonal range.

Also LG designed this new projector to be install friendly with it's WiSA wireless speaker capability, built in webOS 5.0 Smart streaming apps, Wi Fi and Ethernet ready, built-in ATSC OTA and QAM cable tuner, and it's integrated audio/speaker stereo system.

No guarantee, but I'm working with LG to bring this new projector into the USA with an all black body, model # AU810PB.

Any news on Quality/Price as well as which screen you demo tested this on? I would hope to see something at least in the 110-120" range.

Hearing this thing's actual brightness is quite good, so hoping it can fill a 150" screen in a fully light-controlled room. And street price below $3K, fingers crossed.

I tested LG's HU810PW on our 133" DaLite unity gain white fabric called HD progressive. I gave our HU810PW to an a/v Youtube celebrity, Spare Change and his detailed review will be out by January 11th.

Yes, this is a very bright projector and can very easily and properly light up a 150" screen. Its actually rated for up to a 300" screen.

We love this new laser projector and it delivers an excellent image quality at a very compelling price. LG's first allocation is expected to arrive in our store mid to the end of January.

My NDA will be lifter on January 10th and I'll be able to discuss more details and announce the price.

Hey Robert, Can you explain what CalMAN auto calibration is exactly? Is it a new feature that "auto calibrates your projector?" Or is it a service that the projector is calibrated in the manufacturing process? Or is it the calibration software?

CalMAN Auto Calibration is the software used by most professional calibrators to calibrate TVs and projectors. You would still need a calibration meter and test patterns and a professional calibrator would also have another device to profile the meter to your specific projector.

Where can one procure the meter and software?

@Robert what are some good 120"+ screens to be looking at for this projector. I am thinking at this point LED is going to be way to expensive at the 100"+ range so I think a good laser projector with a properly mounted screen would be perfect.
