![]() VRR isn’t as easy as flicking a switch. Stop the FOMO “thinks” Sony is having issues getting good picture quality with VRR enabled like Samsung without PQ degrading in the process. I just had the audio drop out bug for the 1st time. An easy TV reset restored audio through the optical port to my Sennheiser’s. So hopefully these “common” issues can also be addressed. Cheers. |

Thanks to Blu-ray.com member RP30 and FOMO we reported to right folks at Sony to correct their website and all other support resources to properly list VRR and ALLM on the X900H series.

Yesterday I mounted and set up the 75X900H I ordered before Christmas and am very happy with the picture so far. Although I don't game very much, I look forward to future updates to fix the bugs.
The performance I was getting from the TCL R635 was solid for a budget set overall, but couldn't stand all the blooming, and a/v sync issues. Returned to Best Buy for full refund, no questions asked. Great service Last edited by mlock; 01-15-2021 at 05:00 AM. |

Does anybody have issues with their X900H’s randomly going to the Sony logo screen than showing the Android symbols and than coming back on? I have had this happen at least twice while I was watching it since my TV has been hooked up about a month ago.
Thanks |

Well I pull the trigger on a 65in X900H yesterday. My B8 OLED had multiple rows of dead pixels all along the outer edge, so Geek Squad just did the "junk out" and gave me the value I paid for it. Even with that, I still could not get the wife on board to stick with a 65in OLED (I had been eyeing the 65in CX if she would have went along with it). This pretty much came out to an even wash, Geek Squad Protection plan excluded (she was adamant that we have that since it came in handy on this).
So some questions: -I have the Vizio 5.1.2 Atmos Surround sound system, I know that will have to go into one of the HDMI 2.1 outlets, but I have seen some still have issues regarding sound, should I be concerned there? -Who has the best Picture settings for someone who does some light-to-moderate gaming and enjoys watching movies/TV shows? -Should I update the firmware? I have also seen people have multiple issues w/ the most recent firmware update. |

Yes you should update the firmware & turn off any Bravia Sync features otherwise known as HDMI Device Link as the 900H likes to play with Sony PlayStation Consoles automatically.

Some notes.
When viewing, 0 Light in room, 0 Outside light. 6 feet eye Center distance away from 65” PS5 only. HDR10 always in effect. HDMI 2.1 Enhanced. Tested PS5 Apps/Games, not UHD Discs. Took a bit longer to test & calibrate BT2020 then I thought it would when buying this Sony. Have been used to 4K 709 for Sony televisions for a long time. These settings are universal meaning if your TV isn’t defective, they’ll work over HDMI 2.1. I also have Sony’s white balance secret sauce for SDR but didn’t apply them because Colour space is obviously different with HDR signals. Every single Setting effects Color accuracy. I guess the biggest surprise to me at least was Reality Creation when on effects Colour accuracy by adding increased whites. So I made the adjustments needed as every Setting change effects brights & Color. HDR games used to test from PS5 were, Star Wars Battlefront 2 (1440@60p) (HDR 14%) Cyberpunk 2077 (1188@60p) (HDR 700/120/1) Assassins Creed Valhalla (1440@60p) (HDR 800/1.3%) Spider-Man Miles Morales (1320@60p) After inputting these settings on the TV, you must adjust HDR in PS5 Settings & also calibrate HDR Settings in games that allow you to. PS5 - Everything Automatic HDR, ( For Games ) Picture mode: Game Mode Auto picture mode: Off Light sensor: Off Brightness: 40 Contrast: 90 Gamma: -1 Black Level: 50 Black Adjust: Off Adv. Contrast enhancer: Off Auto local Dimming: Medium X Dynamic Range: High Colour: 53 / Hue: 0 / Colour temperature: Expert 1 Live Colour: Low Clarity/Sharpness: 50 Reality Creation: Manual Resolution - 10 Random noise reduction: Off Digital noise reduction: Off Motion flow: Off Smoothness - Min Clearness - Min Cine Motion: Off Video Signal: Auto |

I just posted this in another thread, but I'm looking to get some input from other Sony TV owners. I have the X900F and it has a dark spot (looks like a gray dot with a light "X" going through it) about 1/3 from the top-center of the screen.
My most recent Sony experience began a few years back with a 900E. And that one had a similar issue. I was able to exchange the set with Sony, and the second one was even worse - it had 2 dark spots! I contacted Sony again and they offered another exchange, this time for a 900F. And wouldn't you know, there were 2 dark spots on that one. Finally they agreed to an exchange of that unit, but my current 900F has the issue that I described above. I don't believe that it's a dead or stuck pixel. I'm inclined to believe that something internal is damaged. It's really annoying because I know that it's there and I'm always looking for it. At times I wonder if I've been too picky because I've heard of TV's having other major problems. Outside of the dark spot, it's a great TV. But after more than 3 years (and 4 similar sets) of dealing with it, I'm considering buying a new TV. The experience has made me cautious of another Sony due to the dark spot issue. I'm strongly considering the X950H, X900H, or the upcoming X90J. But I'm curious to know if anyone else has had the "dark spot" issue that I've encountered on multiple Sony TVs. |

I've tried taking some pictures, but the spot doesn't show up really well. It's almost as if they are only noticeable in person. If I have a chance in the next few days I'll experiment with my camera settings to see if I can get some better shots.
