IKR? Great news, although my common sense is tingling so I reckon it'll be a port of the Universal and Dogwoof won't be doing any heavy lifting of their own re:mastering, authoring and whatnot. I'm STOKED that we're getting it, don't get me wrongo, I just couldn't expect this to be the first of many from Dogwoof.

I’m rarely a gambling man, but this is a rare case where my “not settling for BD” bet paid off handsomely. I simply couldn’t wrap my head around this film, of all recent possibilities, not being released in 4K.

Indeed, based on the blu review here the film screams that it was made for 4K. Everytime I've seen it I've passed because of that. At ~23$ it was an easy order.

They rarely release Blu-rays in the UK so there's not much of a typical pattern of behaviour to use as a guide! The UHD will of course be region free.

While I'd love to say I did the same I just never got around to buying the US BD and ended up downloading it instead so's I could watch it in time for the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. The UK release date being November meant I'd written off the UK BD ahead of time, but now that the UHDs are all coming on that date anyway I'm happy to wait.

Thanks, still not 4k capable yet, but prefer to get them now and then for future-proofing.

I'm also glad I waited!

Ł16.66 + Ł3.08 shipping = Ł19.74 = ~$23.80

That's nearly what the 2k BD is (no digital though to sell to recoup) here in the states. Solid deal.

Awesome. Was happy to get a Region B compatible release, that there's now a 4K offering is icing on the cake!

Again probably making no friends but it does look spectacular, the fine text, Saturn V from a low angle, the reds on the LUT quite incredible. The large format footage outside during the build-up to the launch including the suit up etc is where you will see the huge uptick.

Yeah, having finally seen this - albeit not on Kaleidescape and only in lowly 1080p - it's rather obvious that for all of the hoopla about the 65mm stuff it's only really deployed in certain moments, the rest is 35mm. It's quite lovely 35mm, don't get me wrongo, I was enthralled by the whole thing from start to finish. I just thought that there'd be more than a few minutes of 65mm.

Aww man I've got a pre-order in for the regular edition, but now I'm debating cancelling. I don't have a 4K TV, but I'll probably upgrade within a year so I don't want to double dip so soon.
