The Cinera is a head mounted display (HMD), not a VR headset.

VR is designed to more completely envelope your vision. For example the field of view (FOV) of the Occulus Rift S is 115 degrees compared to the Cinera Edge Pro's 66 degree field of view. VR is virtual reality. Cinera is a virtual IMAX theater.

The Cinera Edge Pro is designed with integrated headphones, which allows the weight of the Cinera to be distributed more towards the head and less weight on the nose and face.

The Cinera Edge Pro sports OLED screens instead of the LCD screens the Occulus Rift S and other VR head sets usually do, which offer better black levels, more suitable for watching films.

You can use the Cinera to play VR titles. It does have head tracking technology, and microphone inputs if you want to use it that way, but it's mostly designed to play films and non-VR video games on a large virtual theater screen.

I am highly skeptical of the product advertised. Especially at a low cost of $500 or so... for an "IMAX" level screen? I would love to be proven wrong, though, and await comments from those of you joining the Kickstarter campaign.

I don't think something like this could ever "do it" for me though with my love for high end audio gear.

It only costs 500 on Kickstarter and that was when the Kickstarter first started for the pro version in retail stores itís gonna be sold for double

I'm going ahead with this . The benefit of the doubt will reduce the full retail price to half, which I believe, in itself, is a tremendous value!
Still have my Sony HMZ-T1 HMD that gives me a relative view of a 750ft IMAX screen from 20 feet away for the last 10 years! It's a lower resolution, but my Darbee Darblet enhances it beautifully.
The Royole Moon already upgraded a screen's resolution to 1080P, which is excellent, and this is the next, best step-up to 3D nirvana soon to be available anywhere.

The best way to connect this to the oppo would be directly with a nice hdmi mini cable. Why the coupler? The less devices in the hdcp chain the better.

The Oppo doesn't have an HDMI mini port.

Looks like the Pro comes with a short type-C cable with the standard end.

And they have an optional Type-A to type-D Add-on.

The Cinera Edge Pro has an HDMI micro connector (Type D). Not HDMI mini.

The coupler is for extending your cable. Most of the HDMI to HDMI micro cables are pretty short. If you need to extend, the coupler helps to do that.

The "Type C" they are referring to is the USB-C cable. This is for charging the device and hooking up drives and other peripherals.

The HDMI port is HDMI Micro (Type D). Hence the Type-A to Type-D HDMI cable.

What I meant was the best way to connect any device is directly with the least amount of cables. So get a micro hdmi cable and connect the oppo directly. Why introduce another device in the chain?
Just get a nice individual sofa and have it near the oppo and you are set. 2 meter cable should do just fine.
Want longer? Amazon has got you covered.

Cinera Edge.jpg

Reached: Android OS 9
Reached: CPU 6 core
Reached: VESA HDR400 True Black
Reached: HDMI chipset latency (<1ms)
48 Hours left.

FYI: IMPORTANT Make sure to select a Cinera Edge "Pro"- model as pledge-choice; NOT the "Cinera Edge"! For the PRO's optional HDMI input port that is needed for connecting to a Blu-ray 3D player's HDMI output port, for viewing @ 1080P, 3D MVC encoded Blu-ray 3D's !!!!!
