Smile Will blu-ray player work with mini DVD?

I very much appreciate information found on this web-site. My old VHS camcorder quit working and after hours and hours of searching what to buy next I decided for Canon HV20. This HD camcorder is getting very high ratings and recommendations everywhere, prices went down too. When I was just about purchasing, I learned about DVD and Blu-ray "conflict" so I hesitated. The Blu-ray is obviously the way in the future. After more reading for now I would stick to Canon HV20; I am just afraid, whether it will be possible play HD mini DVD from this camcorder on Blu-ray player.
Can somebody advise me?
Thanks.

If mini-DVD means you have some small diameter 8cm discs (vs std 12cm or 5inches), that is a function of the player, not the camera.

If by "mini" you wonder if you can put short HD movies on a DVD the answer is a qualified "yes". You can put about 20 minutes on a single layer DVD and it will play in a BluRay or PS3 player. You will need to keep the "bit rate" to 18 or 20mpbs max for the disc to be playable.

Don't underestimate the power and expense to get involved with editing and authoring discs.
