Wifey came back from seeing her family on Sunday of last week and tested positive for COVID Thursday. I started feeling bad on Friday and Saturday was worse. Lo and behold, I tested positive yesterday. In addition to the chills and the fever, I've also got a brutal sore throat which I don't remember having the previous time I caught COVID. Good times.

ON-LINE at the local Library checking my email and the delivery status of a used Dell 570 I ordered off ebay as a
Parts Donor for my Computer that went belly-up on me last Friday night..

If all goes well I'll be back up and running by this coming Friday...

EMERGENCY, SOS! I just discovered my coffee pot isn't powering on. I know I'm being over dramatic right now. Good thing I have a back up, frankly I think the AeroPress Go makes a better cup anyway it just takes some work. On the plus side, I won't be drinking a full 12-cup pot like I typically do every morning.

Anyway, I'm waiting for a package to arrive, hopefully it shows up before noon so my day isn't completely ruined but it's being delivered by FedEx so I'm not going to hold my breath.

Wait, you drink a full pot of coffee every morning?! HOLY SHIT. That's wild to me.

I've always wondered (and based on the above, I presume not), but do you wait an hour after you awake before you start drinking coffee? There's been studies that state that cortisol-derived alertness and concentration tend to peak 30 to 45 minutes after waking up. Therefore, waiting about an hour will give you the "true caffeine effect." Maybe if you waited the hour, you wouldn't need a full pot? Just a thought.

Well to clarify, I typically drink it throughout the day but yup usually a full pot every day. And no, I don't wait an hour after waking up before drinking any. I do start my day with a cold glass of water to rehydrate while the coffee's percolating though. Strangest thing is I have a very high tolerance to caffeine, I never experience jitters or other side effects from it. But one scoop of pre-workout will have my heart racing so fast I almost feel like I'm going to pass out.
