So you've never seen anything else than on your RS540? I have a RS1000 right now and it's so damn great. You're in for a treat if you're getting the RS3100.

He's been calibrating my displays and projectors since 2005. His audio cals too are very impressive (big improvement from the regular auto Audyssey cal).

No one around here had one on display.

JVC units are world class for home theater use.

So no I’ve only seen 4K eShift for my projector. I do have 2 4K TVs but I’ve never really seen a huge distance at normal seating distance (9-10 ft with 60-65 in displays. Like my projector more for immersive experience especially with 3D titles.

The new 2021 JVC models like NZ9, NZ8, and NZ7 were shipped to the USA in very small QTY’s to select dealers. In theory it will not be until 2022 when a large amount of these new projectors become available to all JVC authorized dealers that want to stock them. Next year it will be easier for the average consumer to buy one of these new projectors in theory.

The lens is great.

But if you need all the lumens then maybe a lamp projector is better because the laser will dim and can't be replaced as of now.

Also there's talk of RGB lasers so I personally landed on RS3100, NZ8. I hope to have it a long time but I don't totally close the door on possibly outliving it.

See PS5. A year later it's still difficult to get.

@Robert are these Short Throw projectors? Due to my basement config, you can see my thread under home theater advice, with the way the HVAC runs im being told Short Throw is my best bet for a 120" screen.

These are short throw projectors but NOT ULTRA short throw.

So you need approx 1ft distance for every 10” screen diagonal.

I’m in a dedicated room with no windows, dark walls and ceiling so Lumens shouldn’t be an issue. Right on the light engine dimming but it should be a slow dimming process. I don’t put huge hours on my units. Maybe 500-600/year. My 4-yo RS540 is only about 2k hours on the original bulb. Bought a replacement lamp but I haven’t got around to putting it in.

Yes the laser will be replaceable but at a cost and not by the user. JVC just haven't released pricing info yet.

I’m more worried with the imager chip. I’ve witnessed various brands makes of projectors that have dead pixel, dust blobs, discolouration after 5,000-10,000 hours.

eek,...

Well, I guess I can worry about mine AFTER I get it.

my AV dealer said ZERO percent chance of getting it this year and I'm pretty sad now.... I have to cheer up.

On one hand.... I want to think I'm ok with that because arriving after my holiday visitors means no one around to distract me from it .... That's the best spin I can put on it.

I’m still hoping to get mine this year but I doubt that will happen. I “need” it this year simply because I can’t go to CES2021 as my vaccination combo is not considered as double-vaxxed in the US

I received my RS2100 a couple of week ago. However, it had pretty bad streaking in content and I sent it into JVC for analysis/evaluation.
Another RS2100 owner as well as a couple of RS2000 owners verified there was no streaking with a certain movie test clip I used...and these units share the same panel, light path, etc. If JVC doesn't do a replacement, I will just get a refund and keep using my RS440 for now and may consider something else next year. At these prices, I expect no compromises.

I have calibrated an RS2100, NZ8 and RS3100. No streaking I can see. (Yes I know the 3100 and NZ9 are using different optical path)

If mine (RS3100) doesn't ship soon I think I will cancel it. If the rumors of Jan 6 that I heard are true then no problem.

I wanted to give JVC a chance but at some point I will give up on it.

I'm fairly sure a $5000 Sony laser would happen in the next 5 years and I can wait for that instead.

This is not the first time JVC has a big hiccup in shipping their newly released product. When I purchased my NX7 it was delayed for a couple of months too. Not cool.

I know there's a lot of good reasons for the delay.

I ordered a garage door in August that I get shipping soon notices for every few weeks now.

The wait though is starting to make me think I could wait even more and get something better. That's the wait 5 years option.

I want to believe in this PJ and I'm happy I'm able to try to get it.
