In that sense, yeah, I rather have more random danger in a horror game.

In the game PT demo, any time I hear the music change and some kind of dread music building up, I stop moving if I'm stuck in the hallway somewhere. If you move, the tall ghost woman will destroy the player and game over, no way to defeat her. Knowing how to avoid her made the game less horrific. PT's puzzles are the absolute worst kind of puzzles IMO. All cryptic, abstract puzzles that have few clear cut, logical clues. A lot of it is trial and error trying to read the mind of the developer.
Yeah thats a great way to describe it! and again like you said

A player could realistically in RE7 with scripted danger run around mindlessly until you exposed the danger and then figure out how to maneuver past it...

Where like Dead Space if you just ran into a room when the music changed you actually had to deliver on clearing the room or figuring out where the attacks were coming from and deal with them yourself.. And again being armed loaded with ammo and med packs and still like crap I'm gonna have to be the one to do this to me always is a bit more intense then like the Alien: Isolation or RE7 where its just trial and error and you don't actually have to do much outside follow the script

But like I said different strokes I just hope theres way less of that in RE8 vs. 7

Ditto.

Just finished 2 and 3 remasters. Playing 4 and 7 now. 5 and 6 are next.

And the finale...0 and Remaster. No clue why this order. But I dig it. lol

Replaying the games as well right now. It was so much fun to platinum these gems. Currently playing Zero. Only one left to platinum. Not a fan of 5 and 6 though.

Yeah.

I have only beat 5 once back on the 360 when it came out. I bought 6 on ps3 waaay back. Plated it for about an hour and never touched it again. I'm anticipating a chore for those. I might play 0 and Remaster next and see how the flow goes on those.

RE1Remake/Remaster holds up incredibly well.

I'm pumped. I played 0 on xbox. Never remaster.

I've also played the Maiden demo for Village more times than I care to count. I think it's awesome.

You ever played Code Veronica? I played it for the first time a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it. One of my favorites in the series.

I played it with tank controls. Not sure if you can also play it with analog stick.

Cool. That would be quite nostalgic. I played the original 3 on Ps1 so I'm familiar.

I'm going to DL and add to my list.

Next month I'm going to have a Happy 25th Anniversary Resident Evil cake ready. I know it goes against my weight loss diet, but I feel I have to get a cake to celebrate Resident Evil's 25th anniversary.

Been thinking of firing up Code Veronica been so long since I played it but then I think all its gonna do is make me sad knowing that a CV remake is being passed over in favor of RE4

The story is actually fine. It's the characters who are weird AF haha. But I love the overall European horror gothic vibe and architecture of the game. Creates a very unique atmosphere.

The gameplay is very unforgiving. If you don't know what's coming and when it's coming, it can screw you completely over and you have to start from scratch. Which can be very frustrating. But once you know how to play the game, it's amazing.
