lg cx sound problem - YouTube

Sometimes it happens as soon as I turn on my Xbox Series X/PS5, sometimes it happens when I alt+tab the game that I'm playing in my computer.

My TV is connected to my Denon x3400h through hdmi 2, using an hdmi 2.1 cable, and this are my TV settings:

HDMI input audio format : bitstream
Digital sound out: pass through
earc: on

At first I thought it was a avr problem, but I used it with my B7 for 4 years and never had this problem, so I think that's a bug with my LG CX.

When this happens I have to switch my TV/avr to another HDMI input and then return to the previous HDMI input, so the sound gets normal again. If I switch only the TV input or only the AVR input the problem persist.

To temporary fix it I've created a alexa routine, which when I say "alexa, repair tv audio" it switchs my tv to HDMI 2 and my denon to cbl/sat input, and imediatly return my tv to hdmi 3/tv audio input (for example).

Does anyone know why this happen? Is there a way to fix it? I've tested other hdmi cables, but no luck.

Thank you in advance!
Has the issue always occurred since you purchased the CX? My first instinct would be to check the cables, but you've said it doesn't appear to be the cause.

With my B7 I never had this problem, just with the CX, and I think it happens since I bought the CX.

Just replaced both cables (pc -> CX and CX -> AVR) for the xbox series x and ps5 cable respectively, so hdmi 2.1 certified, and the problem persist.

If I alt tab from a game (which forces the TV to "refresh" HDR Game Mode and Instant Game Response) I get a metalic/electric/buzzer sound distortion, which I just can fix switching my CX/AVR to another HDMI input for a second and return to the previous input.

I have the C1 65”. Amazing picture but this WebOS system is pile of trash. Bought the Jungle Cruise but had to finish watching it on the old TV with an Apple TV. Every app has to opened twice because they crash the first time. And to think I got it over the 2020 versions because of the more updated OS. Currently sitting here with no connection to any streaming services despite the internet being full speed.

Seems most people like the older OS better. Though I really think they should go to Google Tv or Roku

Iím still very disappointed in the HBO Max App thatís made for LG TVs. Buggy like none other and the annoying 3 circle buffering deal is ridiculous. I feel like by now the app should be flawless. Someone from LG or HBO Max needs to provide an update to fix things. I have great internet too, so thatís never been the issue, especially with my other apps on my LG C9!

Shouldn't have to with it being available on my TV. The key thing here is that the app should have been tested or updated before being released. To me at least, the version on LG TVs is an older version with bugs.

This exact problem was occurring on the iOS app for a bit before Apple/HBO Max sent out an update to fix the problem. Now, the iOS app works great! The same needs to happen for the LG App. It needs an update to fix the problem. Then we should be good to go.

I can confirm that the HBO Max App is now working properly. The 3 buffering/loading circles are no longer there when watching a movie. I'm not sure if the update to WebOS 5.10.25 on my LG C9 did it or LG and HBO Max did a backdoor update on the app to make it work. Either way, it's working beautifully now. Glad to finally have HBO Max straight on my LG TV and not through my Xbox One or any other device!!

If you had to pick only one, and they were the same price, which would you choose and why?

77" C1
77" GX

Good ^ question and tough choice! Here's some of differences between LG's C1 and the GX Gallery Series OLED TVs:

77C1 advantages over the 77GX:
- LG's new a9 Gen 4 processor is a moderate upgrade from the a9 Gen 3 processor that is in the 77GX

77GX advantages over the 77C1:
- The GX has a very modern and minimalist design that is less than 1" thick and comes with the no gap wall mount built-in.
- The GX series has the Next Gen ATSC 3.0 decoder/tuner built in. The C1 has the ATSC 1.0 tuner.
- The GX has a moderately better built-in audio system than the C1.

This year's a9 Gen 4 processor is only a moderate upgrade from the a9 Gen 3.

Sorry if this has been asked before, what's the recommendation for a pixel refresh? Do it or don't do it? PQ is still fine on my C9 just curious

A Pixel Refresh will automatically happen after about 2,000 hours of use. I have a C9 myself and about 2 months ago, the TV asked for me to do a Pixel Refresh. It took about an hour or slightly less and it was done. But I would only do it when the TV asks you to do it. Doing it too many times can hurt the longevity of the pixels and shorten the life span of them.

If it's fine, don't do it. PUsokrJosh305 is right.

Have a C1 OLED incoming.

Iíll have to see wether it is better or worse than the Google crap on my Sony.
Either way, Iíll probably end up using one the HDMI ports for my Apple 4K box. (Old version)
