Damn. Diabolik's shipping costs to Finland are, well, diabolik. I guess it's Zavvi or Base then.

Is the Italian cut (Wampyr) worth owning? Is it better version than the Theatrical cut? I have never seen this film, and like a lot of my other pre-orders recently, this is a blind buy. If the Wampyr cut is better, then I will try and get the DVD set.

Not sure the rights holders preventing them from selling it outside of the UK would see it the same way

Yes (IMO) and most certainly not.

It's a fascinating curio for fans of the film because of the way Argento recuts it and the different score.

In no way, shape or form can it even begin to approach the theatrical cut when it comes down to which is best.

ONLY 3 more discs, all UHD, as the extras disc in both sets is a BD.

Zavvi has all three editions up. The limited edition is £15 more expensive, though.

MARTIN update!!! Apologies everyone, in our eagerness we didn't point out that as with Dawn of the Dead, we are only shipping this release within the UK. Any non-UK orders will now be refunded. We have to amend on the store and will be back up shortly for UK sales. Sorry!

EDIT: beat by a little bit

Anyways, I preordered from DiabolikDVD. Great price imho.
Noooo

Unless Zavvi have finally sorted out their IOSS registration, ordering from them is an expensive gamble for a European.

What are we missing out with the standard release (apart from the tat and CD)?

The lack of Wampyr has sort of cooled my enthusiasm just a tad. I'll still get this at some point, for sure, but the price Zavvi Australia is doing the standard Blu edition for is a little rich for my blood if it's just a regular Blu in a case.

I'm sure I'll cave at some point, though - looking forward to seeing the doco, too

Zavvi just cancelled my order. Hoo boy... not looking forward to paying almost $100 for the deluxe set, but that might just have to happen, then.

Finland. Even the cheapest shipping option on Diabolik is $45.17. Of course they're not to blame for USPS rates, but that price is just too steep (and there's the added bonus of a 24% VAT on top of that, too). I'll inquire about the cancellation from Zavvi. I hope they are not forbidden from selling the set to overseas destinations. Some vendors cancel orders placed from a Protonmail account, which is what I first assumed happened with Second Sight until their reply clarified the reason for the cancellation.

I've been ordering from them for a long time and never had a tax issue. I live in France and the IOSS works perfectly.
