Movies and water. Two things people are strongly against having to pay for. They feel entitled to get these things for free or for as little as possible. Well, guess what? Movies don't make themselves. People spend years making them and they don't make them for free. I would be pissed if I committed blood, sweat and tears making a movie for people to watch it for free on YouTube. No sir. Should one movie cost $55 to purchase on disc? That's not for me to say because I don't run a label and have no idea what it costs to acquire a film, restore it and pay the replicator to make the discs and the distributor to sell the film. I'm pretty sure, though, that it doesn't cost pennies per disc. I don't think anybody's getting rich from selling movies. At least not small boutique labels.

That's what I had to do with the Nova Media sale. The movies were 50% off but the least expensive international shipping cost was $109.00. Made the discount disappear so I didn't buy.

![]() Yeah, $55 is really not that bad considering the title, its history and frankly this is... IMO...the last physical media release of it. At least it was put on the highest quality physical format by Severin and not a blu. I cringe every time I hear of another 4K upgrade coming and remember I paid $30+ for it. But it is what it is and at least I will have a copy on the last highest quality physical media format. Now the Animal Trilogy is complete...All on the best quality discs you can buy. I take some peace with that, regardless of the price. All depends on what you consider a must buy. BTW...WTF...I ordered within the first 2 minutes of the sale and NO shipment yet!! I assume Severin is doing shit in reverse or random again?? I actually came to Severins' site first than the VS site and this is how Severin repays me.... ![]() |

If 55$ is too much, don't buy. Wait for the cheaper standard version. |

I've ordered from Severin several times in the past and this is by far the fastest I've received an order.

I know the listing said slipcover but i was hoping it was a misprint and we got the Arrow style rigid hard box, not a deal breaker though.

Yeah a hard box would’ve been nice, especially at that price.
The slipcover is pretty thick and rigid and does have a fancy spot gloss on the fly and the pool of blood. |

I'm rather bummed out that it's not. It would have fit nicely with my other Argento 4Ks. For a $55 a pop, Severin should have at least sprung for a chipboard box.

![]() ![]() Well I watched Four Flies on Grey Velvet on the free streaming service Plex a couple days ago and found it quite disappointing. It’s not very gory. There’s barely any kills and some are offscreen. The killer reveal was pretty obvious and lame. The ending was completely anticlimactic as well. The creepy mask shown on the slipcover of the Blu-ray is only worn once by the killer in the beginning. That was a huge missed opportunity on Argento’s part. I’m also confused why so many people consider it a Giallo as the killer doesn't wear the trademark black gloves or use a straight razor. I did enjoy the score by Ennio Morricone. It’s not anywhere close to one of his best scores but it’s solid. Also the first 35 minutes of the film are pretty atmospheric and creepy but after that the movie completely fell apart for me. it’s definitely not one of the worst Argento films I’ve seen but it’s another case of people completely overhyping a film. I hope everyone who bought this for $55 enjoys it more than I did. |

I still remember as kid in 1983 wanting to buy one of my favorite movies - HAWK THE SLAYER - on VHS. There were no retail outlets in my area for VHS, so my father had to ask our local video rental shop what it would cost to order it through them. $75 was the quote. That's equivalent to $225 in 2022! My father said no way - you'll just have to keep renting it when you want to see it!
