It is an awesome film. I could be wrong, but I think it is the first appearance by Mifune in a Kurosawa film.

No sorry that would be the movie Druken Angel in 1948

However if you mean the first samurai style movie they made together, yes that would be right

My avatar will Wait Until Dark for a Roman Holiday since this world as War & Peace
and it would be fun to actually have Breakfast At Tiffany's with My Fair Lady

Barnes & Noble

Ive been waiting for 2 days to have it shipped ...I might just cancel the order and either splurge at a store or trade some movies in and get it for less...

maybe my eyes are going kooky - but it looks like in the opening shot (in the rainstorm) that the camera is lightly bouncing - it's very odd.

That must be an issue with the source as it is also present in the Criterion DVD...not a distraction for me but it is there. I will be watching the Blu-ray Saturday morning .

interesting, since it does sound like a filmed faux pas, I just never noticed it on the DVD til now.

(oh and by the way I love your Home Theater pics)

Got it for $19.99 at B&N (50% off) plus tax. Based on word of mouth here and the review, I look forward to watching it.
