Fincher is probably my favourite modern day director. So I had to order this.

It might look cool but these are smaller distributors and your not always guaranteed to get your moneys worth.

I imported The Jackal which was a German release that looked awesome. There's something satisfying about watching Jack Black getting his arm blown off in full 1080p.

Of course. I just love slim cases. Warner used to release way back when Blu-Ray first came out here Blu-Rays in slim cases.

Shame they stopped. The Dark Knight case looks awful here.

Okay just finished watching the movie. I would give it 3/5 for picture quality. Certainly a step up from DVD. However, this was worth the import alone for the audio which is reference IMO. 5/5 AQ.

Cool i was guessing it would look better than DVD cause DVD's are useless with black.

And there's a lot of black in that movie.

Without doubt this is better than DVD picture wise. I am sure Fox will release a better PQ version which I will pick up but the AQ will be hard to beat. The hairs stood up on the back of my neck with the audio from this movie.

BTW this was viewed on a Panasonic 50" Plasma 1080p/24 screen through a PS3.

I Imported a German copy of the machinist. It's IMO one of the best blu rays i have ever seen. I know all online reviews of it state the same opinion....

PQ is average for blu ray. I'd knock down further to a 2.5.
