The problem with streaming services is that the movies could be pulled or the service could shut down. The latter is unlikely for Netflix, but the former happens on Netflix all the time. If I own a disc, or even a download, I can watch it whenever I want, as long as the disc or file works.

So let me get this straight
The BIGGER hit a South Indian movie is the LESS likely it will be to get a blu ray release. That's been my experience

That was true for a while. Nowadays there are no Tamil or Telugu Blu-Rays PERIOD. Thankfully Malayalam Blu-Rays are still being released.

Have any of the endless sycophantic interviewers ever asked a Tamil or Telugu film maker the Question of why we can't get proper home release for their movies? I've seen interviews from the big films but they never ask them! Then they give the silent treatment to fans who beg them on twitter for answers.
Some Brave interviewer needs to put them on the spot so they are Forced to answer! Then the curse will finally be broken!
