Default Why no Tamil/Telugu Blu-ray/DVDs released?

I have been thinking about this for a long time. Why are Tamil and Telugu movies not released on DVD/BD since quite a few years? What is the reason behind this? For example, Baahubali 2 released on Blu-ray (I have a copy) but it was in Hindi. Telugu was released internationally. Similarly Tamil movies are no longer available on physical media here.

I know I am late to ask this but being a home video collector, I am curious to know about this as most of my watchlist is full of Tamil and Telugu movies.

A lot of Tamil and Telugu movies are now streaming, which put the nail in the coffin for an already dying demand for Blu-Ray. Companies like Ultra and Lotus have released Tamil DVDs, but I can't imagine that they're as good Ayngaran or API DVDs. I guess the audience for these films doesn't value owning physical media enough.

That might be a reason. Sad.

Agree with what Dragun has said. The majority of the audience for regional movies are happy with pirated copies and/or streaming.

I think 2019 is well and truly the last for Indian Blu-rays, DVDs and Audio CDs....across all languages
