I saw mankatha in UK and nothing was censored !! That's why BBFC gave it a 15 RATING only for people aged 15 and over and no kids !!

I HOPE AYNGARAN CAN GIVE US UNCUT VERSION OF MANKATHA WITH ALL THE SWEARING WORDS INIT !!!
As Sunny has already mentioned the swearing words will be bleeped out in the DVD & Blu-ray. But there wont be any masking since the Indian theatrical version didnt have any masking.

Is it possible to have a option in the blu-ry or DVD menu where the viewers can select U, U/A or A. If they select U, the swearing words should be bleeped out. If they select A, it should not be bleeped out. Can the menu be created along these lines?

As much as I like this idea, this one's too much to ask for, I guess.

Its actually illegal for any company release an uncut version of Indian films, without the censor board permission...which is very very very hard to get.

They are anal retentive. Even a petitiion is pointless.

Hmm, I didn't know home video releases had to be censored too. I have a friend who is a filmmaker in Kolkata and he can't get his film to play in India because the censor board won't allow it. His film has won awards in festivals around the world, but he can't even show it in his own country.

though the film is released in international market on home video, so u cant get uncut version from producer/director itself?

But surely this doesn't apply to overseas-based companies releasing product for other countries? Ayngaran's DVDs and Blu-Rays are not for the Indian market.

Yes right!
This is exactly I wanna say...
'uncut', 'uncensored', 'director's cut' etc... We've never seen these lines in Indian DVD titles. Isn't it?

that's a tricky one bro cause not even english films on blu ray have come out like that, in the UK we have ratings like U,12,15 AND 18 and it would be impossible to create a menu like that. I like your idea. MANKATHA SHOULD BE "A" not U OR U/A.

@raj1402: Color correction is one thing, but your screenie looks dull and generic compared to the original saturation. I assume there was some thought applied to giving that hue to the scene.

Bad news...this release is now delayed until end of Jan/Feb 2012, as I'm currently involved on a major film project - which was rather short notice.

This means I have no spare time for other "personal" or "side" projects.

I will endeavour to keep you posted on any updates.

PS) the film has high yellow & blue staturation on the Liner files. Contast is also rather exposed - which is director approved, and was shown on 2K digital screen as such.
