I can't make a top 10 due to a lack of consensus on my part (of what to include and leave out of such list), yet I can easily include 2 in the first places:

Resident Evil (1996, the original game):

Due to their importance I decided to try playing both to contemplate everything they had to offer, like all scenes and in the MGS case almost all codec calls (some I couldn't catch and were not recorded). I was amazed at how much they had to offer (see above).

The 1st RE game is best described in this video:


Words fail to describe how meaningful and geniously conceived these games were.
