If you add titles like Zelda Wii U, Halo 5, Star Citizen, Quantum Break and more the list of games is even more impressive.

Im starting to think 2015 in movies is a bit overrated. A case of quantity over quality. I only think Star Wars, Avengers, and Bond have a chance to be really great. I'll see all the other films, but I dont have such high hopes for them.

Cool

BlueEarth, good question. For now, the movies are looking promising enough to take the lead over video games on PS4, but I'll be investing in both either way.

2015 MOVIES: 1st most anticipated: (not in order)
Star Wars: Episode VII - Dec 18 - Scope/Imax - Conversion
Peanuts - Nov 6 - 16:9 - Native
Assassin's Creed - Aug 7 - Scope - Native (still on track?)
Poltergeist - Jul 24 - Scope - Conversion
Pixels - Jul 24 - Unknown - Unknown
Ant-Man - Jul 17 - Unknown - Conversion
Terminator: Genisys - Jul 1 - Scope - Conversion
The Fantastic Four - Jun 19 - Unknown - Conversion
Jurassic World - Jun 12 - Unknown - Conversion
San Andreas - Jun 5 - Unknown - Native
Mad Max: Fury Road - May 15 - Scope - Conversion
Avengers: Age of Ultron - May 1 - Unknown - Conversion
Seventh Son - Feb 6 - Scope - Conversion
Jupiter Ascending - Feb 6 - Scope - Native
Ratchet and Clank - Unknown 2015 - Scope - Native

PS4 Games 2015: 2nd most anticipated (not in order)
Batman: Arkham Knight
Metal Gear Solid 5
No Man's Sky
The Order: 1886
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Star Wars Battlefront
Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Mad Max
Earth Defense Force PS4
Silent Hills? (2016 more likely)
Fallout 4 (2016 likely) Most anticipated game, Fallout 3 all time favorite video game.

Ohmygodohmygodohmygod...

There's definitely a ton to look forward to on both accounts. Star Wars VII, Avengers 2, and oodles more movies, will undoubtedly blow me away.

But, I voted on games. Movies are good and all, but I'm keeping expectations low on all the sequels and remakes and stuff; a lot of them are just the same old thing. We got a new generation of games coming out, including new titles in great franchises, and innovative new stuff. It should all keep me way more entertained for longer, and be far more rewarding, than most of the movies scheduled for release.

I'm willing to bet that No Man's Sky alone will keep me far busier than all these movies. Batman, Uncharted 4, Mad Max, Dead Island 2, The Witcher 3, and hopefully the next Tomb Raider and Fallout 4 will all be great things to look out for too. And who knows what else is on the horizon?

I'm really excited for Star Wars, but gaming is an overall better experience for me. Games all the way.

Spectre (Bond 24), Jurassic World and Star Wars VII easily trumps games for me. With that said, gaming will still be great. Really looking forward to Uncharted 4, Zelda U, SW Battlefront and Quantim Break. Also, when I can put Halo 5, The Order 1886 and The Division in the 'why not those too?' games, you know it will be a great year.

However when you have a year in movies that includes three of my alltime favorite franchises, movies is hard to beat.

For me, this boils down to

Metal Gear Solid 5
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
Yoshi's Wooly World
Project CARS
Ratchet & Clank

vs.

Avengers: Age of Ultron
Mad Max: Fury Road
Jurassic World
Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Tough, but movies win out for the Avengers/Star Wars combination.

Games are awesome, but in 5 years time, what will the replay value be compared to watching a movie?

1983: ColecoVision console: Donkey Kong Jr. A favorite game of mine.
1983: Star Wars Return of the Jedi. A favorite movie of mine.

Which one, over the years, has endured the test of time based on it's playable format and not the content itself?

If relying solely on the playable format to experience these entertainments, movies can be more easily kept alive since the original version is constantly being updated from VHS, to DVD, to Blu Ray, etc. The movie players are more affordable than gaming consoles too.
Sadly, unless I buy a Nintendo console or find a free version of it elsewhere (against Nintendo's wishes), Donkey Kong Jr. isn't compatible with my PS4, or the PS2, Genesis, etc. As a result, I haven't played the Colecovision version of Donkey Kong Jr in over 15 plus years....... And while it was a great version of the game, it takes a lot more effort to find a modern arcade perfect version and format to play it on.

In that sense, Movies have a longer lifespan IMO and are more easily compatible with modern players.

In the end, both games and movies have been a life long form of entertainment, both of which I wouldn't like being without if I have a choice.

Replayability based on Playable Format:
1. Movies and Music
2. Video Games

Good games can offer over 40 hours of entertainment. You have to watch a movie 20 times to match that.
