Default SVS PB16 Ultra Vs. Rythmik FV18

Just wondering what people’s opinions are of the PB16 Ultra vs the FV18 with paper cone. I currently have the PB16 Ultra but was wondering if the FV18 would be an upgrade over it. I feel like the PB16 ultra is lacking in the mid bass/chest slam region.

I believe the fv18 is better. You should jump on the bandwagon and get the psa tv2112

PB16s are lacking in clarity overall. I switched to TV2112s and its night and day. FV18 would be a big upgrade as well.

So you want a sub that's more musical. Try a SB16.

I have dual pb16s as well and it is just the nature of the sub. Have you tried the 3 different tuning options? It will definitely be more musical in sealed mode.

So you have dual TV2112s? I was looking at the V3612s but after reading on AVS Forum, Tom V said there isn't really any good reason to go with that over the TV2112s. I currently have an old original PB13 Ultra with the 750 watt BASH amp, along with a pair of eD 15" subs with aftermarket 500 watt amps and one of them has a replaced driver as the original sub blew. I am looking to upgrade to dual matching subs at some point and will save up to get something very nice and so far I'm leaning heavily towards the TV2112s as long as they are still around by the time I'm ready to buy.

What is your overall impressions of them, and do you have a dedicated 20A circuit for them?

I have now switched from dual PB16s to dual Rhymthik FV18s. Looking forward to the better control, detail, clarity, less chuffing, etc.
