Just wanted to get a feel of how many of you die hard 3D watcher/lover's like me are staying with their current Tv's for the forseeable future? I could easily upgrade to 4K if I wanted, but have decided to stick it out with my trusty old 80" Sharp I purchased back in 2013.
I love new technology, and recently upgraded my Onkyo 809 to a new Denon for Dolby Atmos, but I think I will hold off on 4K or 8K for that matter for at least another few years. Seeing as most TV content is pretty much 1080, and Blu rays to me look fine at 1080P, I see no reason to upgrade and losing that 3D experience bugs me too much to let go. I am also more addicted now then ever at trying to get a hold of 3D blu-rays when I can find them for new releases. Any of you guys feel the same? |

Disagree
The 4K OLEDs from LG provide a stunning 3D experience, far better than any 1080p tv. The LG led tvs from the same year also are great for 3D The E6/G6 from a couple years ago were the final hurrah on that though. |

Thanks for the reply. I have a 65" C6 that I use for wall art displays in my main sitting room. I need 80" or above to satisfy my "movie experience" in my main home theater. Don't want to go projector, so hence why I stay with my current TV

That’s makes sense. The 77 inch oled tvs with 3D would be perfect for you but alas, the price is nonsense. Lol

how many 4k/3d tvs are there in the market. i was really big into 3d movies and such around when the ps3 had games for it and i thus picked up movies, but i haven't been keeping myself update. i do have a psvr so i can technically see 3d presentations, but i kinda want to see the modern aspect of it.

That's true but those were two model years ago now. I have the E6, I consider it the best tv ever made since its the only tv that does passive 3d, 4k hdr, and oled. They unfortunately discontinued the 3d capabilities.

I will be getting the newest model JVC, and it still does 3d when you buy the separate emitter. Will test it out this weekend.

I mean, my 4K Samsung tv gives me 3D almost as good as my old plasma, almost.
It bothers me that the newest models don’t include 3D anymore tho. 3D is such an experience with some movies, that I guess I will have to preserve my 3D tv forever lol. |

I handled the problem by buying a spare 65E6 OLED. My wife even approved the purchase! That's how good the 3D is and we don't want to give it up. Sad for people who come over and see it though and immediately want one: "Sorry, they don't make these any more."

There is a 77 lg oled g6p on ebay for 6k. I wrote to owner; has 1420 hours, and no problems, but no box. I am still considering it; just a little afraid of used oled. But this is going to be one of the last you see of these, and it's a good price for this model.
Just thought somebody might want a heads up. Does have a best offer too. |

Oh man, this new 3d/4k projector is just amazing. I was missing what 3d movies should really be like with my old projector. This one does 3d so much better and is WAY brighter. Much better watching spiderman homecoming in 3d vs 4k last jedi. It just pops out at you with extreme detail.

Anyone have any experience with the Sony XBR65Z9D?
Basically the only new television left that has 3-D. I am still waiting (hoping) that the Sony Z9D drops in price a little more before picking one up. I missed the boat on the e6 and c6 OLED models so this appears to be about my only option left. Other than buying used, which I am not that comfortable to begin with and the prices for used e6 and c6 sets I see for sale are pretty outlandish. I currently have a 60-inch LG Plasma w/ active 3-D (60PH6700) that is still going strong. |
