Default DC upping price on some books to 5.99

https://bleedingcool.com/comics/dc-i...ers-to-6-each/

With Infinite Frontier, DC Comics launched and reformatted a number of their comics with increased page counts. Batman #106 and Joker #1 had comics with 22-page lead stories and an 8-page back-up strip, 30 story pages and a $4.99 price point.

However, it appears that prices are going up without a corresponding increase in page count. Solicitations for Batman #109 for June, and for The Joker #3 and #4, are now $5.99 for the same 40-page comic. No decrease in price for the non-card-stock covers.

Also joining the $5.99-for-40-pages price point in May is Superman Red & Blue with #3 (previously 48 pages for $5.99), and in June, Wonder Woman: Black White And Gold #1.

And with the Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #1-6 priced at $4.99 for 32 pages from April, could there be more price rises to come?

$6 is way too much. I don't read any DC comics but I wouldn't pay it. TPB it is if Marvel follows this.

This is insane. A comic cost .50 in 1980 and that would be less than $2.00 in today's cost.

I could buy a paperback novel for $8 and it would last me days while a comic is minutes.

This will just further kill comics and drive them into a limited niche market.

I'd switch to trades for most of what I read if Marvel follows this. I don't need to read any of it that urgently. I like my current Marvel runs but going from $4 to $6? Nah, I'm not invested enough to support a price increase.

Honestly I think Monstress from Image is the only comic I absolutely wouldn't drop at $6 per issue. The art is gorgeous and the story is good. TWD Deluxe is fun but I already don't know how I'm justifying rebuying the issues simply for color when I could have the entire run for under $100.
