Here is a good Video from Jaremy talking about Streaming vs Disc. He puts together Bitrates for Video and Audio more along the lines of where I have been telling you guys it's up to around 20Mbps Average for Video. Especially if you have Fiber and Hardwired Ethernet the Quality is catching up to Disc Real Fast!

Please note I am taking about combined A/V bitstreams. Thats the one thing that streaming lacks, lossless audio when audio can represent a lot of audio quality difference. Last edited by JohnAV; Today at 07:30 AM. |

Maybe by the time 8K streaming is available they'll have caught up to 1080p Blu-ray.

Some people can't have nice things. Others don't want the nice things.
If streaming is ever comparable to physical media that will be nice. Meanwhile, it is the best time to love physical media. Lots of great new releases on the way to my theater. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by bhampton; Today at 09:35 AM. |

As to big improvements in streaming data rates, not happened. In 2016 Netflix was streaming at 16 Mbps as displayed on my Sony FMP-X10 media player. As to digital lockers, there is a fair amount of difference between them for the same title. In general, Apple has the best but not always. Funny how folks make a big deal about the difference between streaming at 15 Mbps vs 20 Mbps (1.3X, 33%) and make light of a 3X, 200% difference. |

A poster at AVS (thread here) posted a chart of device type vs provider in terms of video and audio capabilities. Just shows what a CF streaming continues to be. As can be seen the ATV4K is the best all around. With the Refresh Rate app on the Shield I get matched frame rate on Prime and others.
