So true, LG and Sony are the best at supporting older TVs.

Still not sure LG'S OLDER processors or OLED modules can support the reduction of the ABL.

I got my LG C2 about a month ago and I keep noticing on 1080p blu rays on my LG UBK90 that theres a sort of flicker on darker and lighter scenes, almost like a bitrate thing, on discs where it is obviously not inherent to the source, and I cannot tell what the issue is

my settings on the player are 2160p and 24hz

and I have all motion / dimming settings turned off

Check out FOMO's YouTube video on the G3. Excellent insider information on the new advancements and features.

Over the weekend, I disabled ABSL (TPC and GSR) in my C1's service menu, no more auto-dimming for me!

Thinking of going for a 77" C2 instead of the 65" G2. I feel like I will regret not going bigger. From what I can tell, the only noticeable difference between the two is that the G2 is a little brighter. However, I feel I will regret not paying $700 more for the extra 12" the C2 will give me when I dont think I would even notice the difference in brightness. I am more concerned about the audio details than video when it comes to HT anyway.

Definitely go with the bigger set. I've had the woulda, coulda, shoulda, too many times. The C2 is a great display.

@Fors*, I agree to go with the larger 77" C2 OLED TV vs. the 65" G2.

Thanks for the advice. I did not even mention the hit or miss uniformity issues with some of the G2's....which does play a part in my decision as well.

All of the 77" C3 TVs we've see so far are all very clean.

Looks like the C3 line has finally hit the Best Buy distribution centers so stores should have them any day now.

I got 2 77inch C2s and I love them. If the price jumpfrom 77-82 wasn't so bad, I probably would have gone that route.

Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to do the same. I just haven't seen - or notice - it happen often enough to bother me on both my C1s, but of course when it does happen, it's annoying.

I get it, it took me a long while to build up enough courage to do so, but I finally did it last weekend and it legit took 30 seconds after holding off for 3 months.

I didn't see the dimming at all and then saw it twice within a few weeks which is what prompted me to turn it off. I should probably rewatch "Heat" again cuz who knows what was happening with that disc as it was dark to begin with.

I happened to grab that one on UHD a few weeks ago. I didn't notice any dimming by the set, apart from the dim outside scene at the docks that appears to be the source. But I also watched it on my 48" C1 in the mancave so that may be a factor. Now I'm curious to watch it in my main room on the 65" C1 and see if I notice anything.

I too watched it in a dark basement and it looked a mess on my calibrated 65" C1.

My 65 is in a brighter room than the 48. So I'll be disadvantaged from the get go so I'll have to watch it at night with the lights out. But I also self-calibrated watching some recommended videos that I think I got from this thread, then did some manual tweaks from there.

LG C2 55 Day 1....this normal or nah? Bottom left and right corners. Almost seems like more magic remote sensors but I dont recall seeing them in the far corners like this on my CX. Kind of comes off as a damaged look rather than finished to me. On top of that, I did manage to find another C2 owner with this, indicating that it may be factory, but on the other hand I found more C2 owners say it's not normal and that they DON'T have them. They are hardly noticable and doesn't seem to affect anything, I just have an extremely hard time accepting this on day 1 with a brand new expensive TV. I'm DREADING a return because retuning TVs is a pain in the dick. What say you, blu forum?

I recently purchased a C2 and wanted to try Precision Detail but it's greyed out on Dolby Vision Cinema. It seems to only let me toggle it if I select Dolby Vision Cinema Home. Am I doing something wrong? Or does it only work on the latter mode? I ask because I find DVCH too bright (although I've read it's because that setting is basically the equivalent of ISF Bright/Day).

On a related note, did I understand correctly that Dolby Vision IQ doesn't have a dedicated preset on the C2, rather I have to activate AI Brightness in tandem with Dolby Vision to get Dolby Vision IQ? I see AI Brightness is already active on with the DVCH preset. Does that mean the DVC preset becomes Dolby Vision IQ if I activate AI Brightness on it too?
