Why?

Because there are too many bandwagon wannabee fans showing up, chanting the Eagles chant for me. The media is going crazy over the Super Bowl here in the Philly area....like they always do, and usually, Philly loses more championships games/series than they win.....just look at the Phillies 4 months ago.

They will never learn...hec, it feels like most people around here think there is no way they can lose, and they talk about the parade as much as the game itself, which is bad mojo.

Oh, that pic. Yes, yes I do.

I think the Chiefs will prevail. Although I'm rooting for a few Philly touchdowns.

Logic tells me KC, however, it would be nice to see Jalen Hurts defy the haters.

Unfortunately, there will be no pole greasing in Northern Delaware. No parties, just a hefty serving of wings and chips. The parties are a thing of the past. No tolerance for the nonsense.

You a Pats, Geno's or Tony Lukes guy?

I will say you crazy Philly fans keep the grease industry in business. Gotta lube up those light poles.

Regardless of the outcome here's to a fun and entertaining game.

I like Andy Reid and will be nice seeing him get his comeuppance against the team that fired him. The Kelce bros crack me up. I'm not a podcast guy, but I do catch snippets of their show and they're great.

Laying low here too. The wife is making meatballs, one of the kids is making football cookies (I loves me some cookies) and I'll order a couple pizza pies. That's about it.

None of those, more like Dalessandros or John's Roast Pork....the 3 you mentioned are now basically a deteriorated, commercialized version of what they use to be.

This game will come down to the offensive and defensive lines...if both teams play like they have all season, then I believe the Eagles win. Of course, the biggest factor that you cannot control or anticipate are turnovers/penalties.....as who ever ends having more than the other loses like 90% of the time in the playoffs.

It was a great game. Philly is sick to their stomachs today and the rest of the off-season. Now it's time to focus on the NBA. The trades have been insane. The West is gonna be ridiculous. Utah, Phoenix, Dallas, Both LA teams and of course, the W's will always be a threat.

Lol. Resistance is futile and I'm weak. Just need to get that guy from Northern Delaware over here to work his cable management.

Anyway, I want to slide in on the pre-pro upgrade bug convo. That new Marantz AV10 looks magnificent. The front panel is mesmerizing. 15 channels. I concur with the need vs want dilemma. Do you or will you use any of the additional features it offers. The 8805A is still a beast in its own right. However, $7000! That's steep man. I know you da man, but day-yum! If was an even trade or close, I'd do it on aesthetic alone. But, history has proven that if you do move forward, you'll finagle a sweet deal making the acquisition feasible. You are the acquisition sensei.

Who am I foolin'? I'm considering the Anthem AVM 70 to replace the Marantz AV7702 MkII. But like you, for what the Anthem may offer, the question is, will any of those additional features result in overall better performance? 8K resolution? Really? Where and when? Supposedly it has better DAC's across all channels, and of course, ARC.
The repellents are out in mass! For me, 4 grand is nuts! Let's not forget that understatement regarding the back breaking cable reconnect job I passed the "Too old for that $hit" phase a long time ago. I'm in the "I wish you would try that $hit" phase of my life.

It will eventually happen. More than likely, the upgrade will be subsidized by the IRS.
Hello Wabs.

I do believe I predicted that this acquisition would come to fruition. I'm clairvoyant.

For real man, congrats on the acquisition of the AV10. Did your "back" get the memo on what's about to happen? God bless ya man. I was cursing up a storm, just installing my new Xbox One X and Roku Ultra a couple days ago.

If you don't mind revealing, from which retailer did you procure the AV10?

The box alone reeks of understated elegance, quality and snobbery. Let me explain,...the box is simply labeled, "Marantz AV10/AV Preamplifier". That's it. That says it all. Not present is an endless listing of format/tech logos, partner-affiliations, certifications, award badging, no unnecessary marketing. AV10! There's nothing else that needs to be said. That's all you need to know. It's like saying, "Those who, know!"

Day-yum Wabs. You're my hero. I vicariously satisfy my upgrade-itis thru your other-worldly acquisitions. Now, I'm compelled to really consider the AVM-70 or wait for Marantz to release a Cinema/Reference-like Pre-Pro at the 77xx level. I have to believe they will. It would be nuts not to. The 77XX level prepros are their best selling products when it comes to separates. Plus, it's all my budget can accommodate.

By the way, how far away is the 337 stand from the back wall? Do you have to move the stand forward or can you wedge yourself back there to disconnect and reconnect? My lowboy sits amost 24" from the wall. That makes things a little easier, but it's still a PITA!!!

The back panel looks so much easier to navigate compared it's predecessor.
The XLR's directly under the RCA connections is so efficient and should make connectivity/install a breeze. There's no longer Component Video inputs. A much needed reduction in obsolete legacy inputs. I also like the fact that the HDMI inputs are correctly labeled. No longer is the an CD label given to an HDMI input. The CD label input is now assigned to where it should be, RCA and/or XLR.
Simplistic but hella elegant.

AV10

Your lower back may not be enthalled about the arduous endeavor, but I know you'll find a way to get over that obstacle. And one last thing Wabs, don't be stingy. Post photos, once the install is complete.

Lol. I thought the same thing about the box. And it's quite the box. Unboxing was actually kinda fun and not a chore. If that makes sense.

Have you thought about the Cinema 40? Or even its little brothers the 50 and 60?

I wish my stand was 2' from the wall. I didn't have the NostraLDG foresight. It's tight. And I die a little bit every time I have to connect/disconnect something.

What's happening, LDG?

Marantz is definitely bringing sexy back. This thing is gorgeous. Was only planning on unboxing the AV10 last night. Well one thing lead to another and I ended hooking her up. Uff da. I tell ya, LDG, I'm sore today. Was doing all sorts of Cirque du Soleil contorting. I'm getting too old for this. Gotta find more ibuprofen.

Heres' a couple of pics. So much sexier in person. Just like stroking it...

The AV10 is a beast. Notice how much larger it is than my 8805 which it replaced.

And I've got the opposite...plenty of room to get behind my gear (was a pre-requisite for this space), but I have to step through cable spaghetti like Tom Cruise steps over lasers.
