I wonder how they obtain those collectibles? Fan or crew lends their item? I doubt SS would give them up for free, unless they received some sort of a plug.
Either way it's just so cool to see things like that on a hit network show, where I can say "hey, there's my Superman statue""

It's probably just part of their set dressing budget. They've been doing the show for enough years that amassing a collection like that on studio budgets wouldn't have been difficult. After all, for the right price everyone's collections are susceptible, no?

I don't know if Sideshow ever really gets plugged on the show. I do know that Sideshow plugs the show whenever one of their figures is used as a focal piece in an episode though.

Of course SS will plug it, they are can of beans next to highly rated network show, so that's just smart business for them. That's why I would be surprised if the company name, Sideshow, was ever mentioned. I'm sure SS needs BBT more than BBT needs them.
As for collections being used, not mine unless I was compensated for it!

Oh, yeah. I'm talking about their staff saying that they need this particular piece, finding one, and offering a ridiculous sum to purchase it from whoever they find has one. If that collector just won't budge on a sale, then they'd probably reveal themselves as part of the show and offer a handsome compensation for usage... and likely a visit to set while filming to ensure proper handling of the piece. I would gather that they'd rather just outright purchase for some stupid price though. "I'll give you $1500 for that Steve Rogers 1/6th Scale Figure." Would you say no to someone offering that?

I doubt seriously they go that far, but maybe they do. I think they just talk to a friend of a friend and ask if they can borrow it.
Maybe local hobby shops donate several pieces, in order to get a photo of said piece on set, then turnaround and quadruple the price with the photo and CoA.

The Hollywood and TV industries don't have that kind of time to waste "asking around..." unless it involves something like military equipment which would cost millions and would be impractical to buy. Trust me. Stuff like this they would just rather spend 10 minutes trying to acquire so that it is readily available at any time if they need it in the future. A crew on a TV series doesn't usually have enough time to get the job done as it is. It's an insane schedule.

I understand that, but from what I've gathered watching set designers talk in numerous bonus content, they actually do just that: scrounge around for low dollar items. They all seem to have massive contact lists that they can ask to borrow/rent from. This is all for tv, mind you, as films have much higher budgets.
Ultimately, until we hear definitively from someone "in the know", we can only speculate.
As I said, I can pretty much rule out SS as they would be hyping the hell out of it. So my guess to remain budget-friendly they simply ask around and get what they can. All it would take is one crew member to say, "I've got just the thing, let me show you my collection".

Aquaman looks amazing. I'm scared of the price tag. Probably $499.99.

I'm not a true fan of Aquaman, but I'm considering getting this when it comes out.

I think mainstream media enjoys making fun of him, but he really is badass.

The new 52 definitely made him cool again. The first issue alone was awesome.

I know what you mean. I haven't known anyone to be a fan of his, but that statue is so bad@$$. Just like the Green Lantern statue that came out. I'm not a true fan of his either, but I wish I have bought one when i had a chance.

I'm going to have to read more about him. See if I can relate, at all, to his character.

I say I'm not a fan because I have read any of his stories. Nothing against the character at all. Any suggested storylines for Lantern and Aquaman?

My favorite superheroes would be Black Panther, Batman, Superman, and World Breaker Hulk.
