Not sure if it applies to all models, but for the CX, you don't need a remote.

You can access the service menu by entering this web address in the TV internal web browser: http ://webosapp.club/instart
OR http ://webosapp.club/ezadjust

Your TV will prompt you to accept the connection from the browser.

At the password prompt enter 0413

Arrow down to OLED.
Arrow across to TPC.
Arrow across to turn TPC from ON to OFF.
Get the hell out of there.

This is how I disabled the ASBL on my set.

Busy Playing about with the DV settings on my LG OLED and wondered if I need to have AI settings turned ON if I’m using DV IQ, or does this have nothing to do with DV IQ?

The guy there straight up told me LG does this all the time with their OLEDs. Even told me about a guy who had multiple dead pixels straight out of the box that LG refused to fix. I paid a lot of money for this TV and the fact that LG f*cks its customers like this is frustrating to say the least.

I'm gonna try and go through Best Buy now to see if they'll repair it, but I can say for sure I won't be recommending LG products to anyone anymore.
Had a Best Buy tech out, and according to him they can't do anything do it while it's under LG's warranty. So it looks like I'll have to wait for that warranty to expire so I can try BB again and hope they're kind enough to replace it for me.

I took a look at the site on my computer. I feel like that is just asking for a hack on your TV. I'd rather access the menu safely from a remote than a connection from a website.

Default LG Service Remote

I was just given one of these, unused. Is there any place I can find directions on how it might be used. I have a 55" CX. Thanx

I looked at my LG manual.

It specifically says dead pixels is normal in the LG C1 manual. So obviously LG thought ahead to negate any warranty claims of this issue.

Anyway, sorry to hear about your LG experience.

Suddenly the Best Buy TotalTrash TotalTech service I begrudgingly purchased along with the 65" and 49" C1s I picked up a couple of months ago was a good idea after all.

The sales rep at BB where I purchased my GX said that I would be wise to get the extended warranty even though I hesitated due to the cost. Glad I did hearing about problems with LG backing a necessary claim with their product.

I was reluctant to get it cause I was annoyed that after 10+ years of reaching Elite or Elite+ (which took WAY more than a measly $199/year to maintain), I was all butthurt for not having been given any incentive toward TotalTrash TotalCare. But I went ahead and bought it anyway when I came to my senses and realized I don't have to spend all that money at BB anymore, and pretty much anything I buy now is automatically covered.

Question for all of you. My LG C9 has already had it's 2,000 hour automatic Pixel Refresher cycle done to it. Now, I was under the assumption that after another 2,000 hours the TV will ask me to do the same thing. Yet, here I am over 4,000 hours of watch time and the TV hasn't said anything.

Does the automatic Pixel Refresher from the TV only ask you at 2,000 hours of use or does it continue to ask every 2,000 hour interval of watch time? And also, would any of you recommend I manually do the Pixel Refresher now that my TV has done an extra 2,000 hours of use?

As per Brightness. Play something in SDR. Adjust OLED light.

Reference is 45/100 or 100 nits. 55/100 is 120 nits. So if in a brighter room you may want to go to either 55 or 65. In dark room 45 is good but again ya may want more pop. If so just go to 55/100.

I find Filmmaker Mode more accurate than ISF Dark Space.
What about the "Gamma" setting?

Interesting question, i would like to know it too. I have a CX and it did the pixel refresher cycle just once too and my tv has almost 2 years and it surely passed the 4.000 hours.

Default Brand new 77" LG G2 has a dead pixel.

So my 77" LG G2 was delivered and wall mounted 5 days ago. Yesterday I was able to run some color slides which revealed a single black pixel on green and blue, otherwise I haven't found any other issues. Has anyone here returned an LG OLED for a dead pixel? I'm upgrading from a 65" LG E6 which has terrible burn in but no dead pixels. I purchased the TV from Best Buy. I figure that I'd better get a replacement within the 15 day return window, the panel might get worse. I expected more from LG's flagship model.

I should have my C1 catching up to your C9 in hours this October.

Am currently around 3,100 hours. So anyway interesting stuff & I didn’t even think about that until you mentioned it. Am curious if others who have lots of hours can chime in too. Would be appreciated.

Alternatively,

A simple “instart” on the Service Remote would have the answer. You’d just have to enter in, look to see if shows something like “2(4000)” then ya would know.

Today my service remote will be delivered, this is the first time i use it. I'll look into it since my CX had just one automatic pixel refresher and i'm sure i passed the 4.000 hours of usage now.
