Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, but I didn't know where else it would go.
I am in the market for a new HD camcorder. I am using an iMac and primarily us Final Cut, and iMovie for editing. I've narrowed it down to 3 options and was wondering if anyone here any experience or thoughts about them. Sony HD-SR11 (Like the 60gb hard drive, and style. Bit pricey though) http://www.amazon.com/Sony-HDR-SR11-Definition-Camcorder-Stabilized/dp/B00123XZNI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1212537084&sr=1-1 Sanyo Xacti HD1000 (Like small form factor, not sure about handling/small memory http://www.amazon.com/Sanyo-HD1000-D...2537043&sr=1-1 Canon VIXIA HF10 (Just stumbled across this model and was hoping for some input http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001144JQU/ref=s9subs_c2_at1-rfc_p?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1RBY4M6VSM0XMHHK4862&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p =278240301&pf_rd_i=507846 Any input is greatly appreciated. Feel free to move to appropriate forum. Thanks |

I bought the first Sony HDV they came out with (1080i) and I really enjoy it. I paid $2k when it first came out. The only complaint I have is it sucks in low light situations and has a very grainy picture. I am sure that this has improved over the past few years but I would definetely check the ISO rating of the camera you are looking at. Secondly my camera connects via component and not HDMI which is definetely a Con. In well lit situations the PQ is excellent. Definetely play with the Vid Camera's you are interested with at the store before buying.

![]() Quote:
1. Lens filters fit outside the built-in lens cap (so unprotected by lens cap) 2. No shoulder strap |
