Lightbulb Official Custom SteelBook™ Cover Art Thread

A few days ago I posted a custom steelbook design that I had created from scratch in Photoshop in the Wall.e FutureShop steelbook thread which was very positivly received.

As there is already a very popular Official Custom Cover Art Thread in the main Blu-ray forum I though it would be interesting to create a thread for forum members to show off their custom steelbook covers.

There has been lots of discussion in the Making your own Sticker SteelBook™ cases thread about making you own custom steelbook using stickers which is something I might try, just for personal interest to see how it comes out.

Are those Photoshop-templates downloadable or self-made?

Thumbs up

I really love that steelbook for Star Wars, Episode I. I'd even use that for MY dvd if it was real.

If we ever decide to do a custom run for members of this forum, I think we found our graphic artist.

Seriously, these are great.

Awesome stuff, truly.

I think the Tranformers cover overall looks killer. I'd probably throw the title on the left side of the front embossed and reading from bottom to top, and have the spine read from top to bottom.

I like the outside for Star Wars: Ep 1, but it might have been better to include Anakin's pod on the front cover as well. Don't get me wrong, the overall layout is stunning, but it seems like one of the main characters should be somewhere on the front cover. Maybe even do it horizontal. That would give you more room in the back to throw some other great shots of this film. One of my fav. characters from the Star Wars franchise is Darth Maul, and it would be great to see him somehow used. The inside could be a shot of the fight he has towards the end with that double-sided light saber. Damn, now I want to play with Photoshop. Keep 'em coming!

WOW, your artwork is amazing, you could really put a lot of Steelbook designers out of business for sure. Keep that awesome artwork coming!

Looks great!

If I may offer some constructive criticism:
- I would remove the Blu banner on top. It takes away from the art and makes it look too much like a standard case.
- Something about the spine of Star Wars looks a bit off. Not just that it's not center aligned, but something else I can't quite put my finger on. Like the font doesn't stand out from the background enough..
